i like the show, but why does he only choose young atractive women? there are so many other people that you find in supermarkets? for example... older men and women, overwight people that he can take home and show them how to make a healthy meal. and what about men in general....they need to eat too! Mr Curtis need needs to seek out a new group of people to cook with, this will make your show more well rounded for your viewers.
I came here to ask that same question. I think it's ridiculous how obvious this is and the producers must actually think that viewers won't see how wrong and superficial it is. It is insulting to the viewers. I would love to see him cook with some senior citizens who actually probably need the help. Also, I think picking a guy like this is a rip off of The Naked Chef who I loved. This guy just doesn't have the charisma that Jamie of The Naked Chef has.
Yeah ! It's hard to know that he will ignore me just because my looks. But he always warns that you have to dress up. Oh! and other thing. He never goes to Walmart, I can't afford to go to an expensive or chic Supermarket. Too Bad. I'll die without knowing him . He's too cute and charming after all.
I can understand why he picks the young pretty people, but I bet more older people watch his show. No, I bet he wouldn't go to Wal Mart where the average person shops. We don't even have any fancy stores in our area of the South. He never goes to small towns, always large cities.
Actually I hardly ever watch the show for this very reason. It seems quite prejudicial and very wrong that they cant choose real families and people to be on this show. I know several older women who are great cooks and probably more interesting than those bimbos he chooses.
Hi All! I was thinking about the same thing the other day. I thought how wonderful it would be to have that incredible hottie approach me at the market and then I thought....hmmmmmm I am 52 (but HEY STILL SEXY!!) and he only approaches the young, hot things......I think that is a shame. We older women could teach Curtis a thing or two!! And.........would love doing it!!! I have to say very few men on TV or in films really get my juices going but Curtis???? He is as delicious looking as the food he prepares!!! Thanks TLC for the eye candy and for bringing such a cute show but I do completely agree that it is quite prejudicial to just keep picking the 20 and 30 somethings. Older women can appreciate Curtis too!!! For those of us who have cooked for some 20 odd years what I wouldn't give to have Curtis in MY kitchen!!!
Curtis, who comes off as a very polite and down to earth man with some serious manners, would most likely be insulted to find out that the viewers assume that he picks the person to approach. I would have to figure that the producers have a lot more to do with it....and it probably doesn't hurt the ratings any!!
I just started watching take home chef and I noticed he does pick the eye-catchers of the crowd. Wouldn't it be funny if he found a hotsie tottsie who knew more than him and showed him how to cook or what if the producers accidentally picked a single woman? I don't know if it's the Aussi's fault or the producer's for alientating 90 percent of American woman when the pickings occur BUT it still is a fantabulous show
Every house Curtis goes into is spotless. No dishes in the sink. No toys on the floor. I wonder if there really like that when he gets there or they start filming after the house is cleaned up. Love the show especially Curtis.
Actually, it does not really matter to me who the "pick-up" is-rather, I enjoy the interactions, and the actual preparation and cooking of the recipes-plus, I love it when a new dish is introduced, one that at least one household member, had not yet tried! Point in case- had never had swordfish or fennel bulb before. I tried that recipe and boy! My hubby LOVED it-and so did I!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Of course, I also love to watch Curtis nd listen to his hypnotic voice!!!!!! He is a cutie!
