Hi, I have a less than one year old recently spayed female cat.
She loves the outdoors and I like her to go out too because she is quite rambunctious!
Well, she has been stuck in the neighbor's tree 4 times now. My husband is not happy because he has to climb 20+ feet up to retrieve her every time. Plus, she has such a reputation in the neighborhood now that when she was sited approaching a tree our neighbor quickly scooped her up and brought her back home.
I don't know what to do with her! If we confined her indoors she would drive us insane meowing at us at scratching at our legs. We can't really de-claw her and still allow her to venture outdoors can we?
Anyone have suggestions? Help us!

She may like the texture of the tree bark. I would try to get her a limb somewhere to claw on.
Or if you could get a small say 5 ft limb or like clothesline high with a little perch on top.

I don't know, but worth a try.

My cat Nick used to walk on a leash. When they were younger I put them out on a stake in the yard and they loved it, I provided a stump for them to climb up and sit atop.

If its the same tree she is climbing maybe you could wrap some foil around it about 4 or 5 feet up, cats hate tin foil.
