I was Just wondering if anyone's cat likes having their belly rubed. our cat always comes up to me and rolls over on her back so I can rub her belly... I think because she sees the dog do it and she wants to be petted to.
My kitty doesn't mind too much about belly rubbing - I think it depends on her mood. Sometimes she looks at me like, "What do you think you are doing?" & she will try to rub her face against me instead, but other times she will roll over & let me pet for a few seconds before then again rubbing her face on my hand - she loves face/head scratching.
I've been told that a cat only exposes their belly to you if they trust you and feel safe and secure. I have one that you could rub her belly all day and the other one will tell you if she wants her belly rubbed and then only for a few seconds. My friend has a cat that will lay on your lap so you can rub her belly until the dog enters the room, she then turns over to protect her tummy.
I have a cat that likes to have her belly rubbed, but only for a few seconds. And the way she tells you she's had enough is to claw at your hand! Solution: we now use a back scratcher and it works great. The first time she tried to claw it, her response was somewhat confused. But now we use it all the time and she loves it!
My cat, Prince Joshenheimer, loves belly rubs, and we have no dogs. My cat, Binx, on the other hand, hates belly rubs and kicks your hand whenever you try!
Blueberry doesn't roll over for his belly to be rubbed, but he loves to be carried on his back, with his head hanging over my arm and have me rub his belly, snd scratch his chin. It's so cute!
