Hi, My cat Giles is about two years old. He has always been a small cat, but he seems a little thin. I feed him, of course, and I just don't really know what to do about it. Also, something has occured the past couple of weeks that is worrying me..He has a bunch of areas all over that he is losing fur on. It is weird though, because there is still fur there, it's just not the same or as long as his "regular" fur and it is a lighter color....basically what I'm saying is his baby fur is just there...I'm not sure what to do...
Tiny...you really need to take your kitty to the Vet and get him checked out. It's the best way to just "cut to the chase" and find out exactly what is wrong with him. And if money is an issue, they always have "Low Cost" Clinics out there, just look in your phone book.
My cats got fleas somehow...mine are indoors at all times...and they started losing their hair and were losing weight too...I tried over the counter flea control but it didn't work..
I am on a fixed income too, but I HAD to come up with the money to get them to the Vet...those fleas were just killing my kitties!!!...They were just eaten up with them!!!...Anyway I was able to take them to the Vet and she gave them a Capstar pill...it kills the fleas within 30 minutes...and then we put them on Advantage and now I have absolutely no fleas at all!!!...And now the fur is growing in and they are gaining their weight back.
By the way...my Vet told me I was very lucky...she said the over the counter flea control could have killed my babies!!!
