)Well, I know there's been a few scattered topics of pet deaths, so I thought I'd create a topic and dedicate it to all our furry (or feathery or scaly ) friends who have passed on or ran away. Annie...my grandma's cat that got chased away by a dog Crystal...my cat that ran away in the night Buster...my betta who passed away Captain...another betta of mine that passed away Great White...my goldfish that passed away Whitenose...my goldfish that passed away Angel...my angelfish that passed away Silver...my small angelfish that passed away (gee, I don't have such good luck with fish, do I? ) Jet...my parent's dog that got hit by a truck Maggie...also my parent's dog who ran away And one I am especially angry and sad about is a smaller dog that my parents had before I was born. She had puppies and some of them were poisoned by a dog-hating neighbor I think the mother was poisoned as well

-hugs everyone- Sorry for your losses.
I've never had very many pets, but I've always loved animals, so the pets of my relatives were very close to me.
In memory of... Castro and Simba, my parents’ cats when I was just an infant. I understand they were rather fond of my baby self. Max, my grandparents' German Shepherd and my childhood guardian on the farm. Sally, the injured Salamander my cousin and I found at our grandparents’ farm, which we were unable to save. =( Turk (Misty) and Andy, my grandparents' Poodles, who were very much amusing. Wiley, my mother's horse and the mechanism for many adventures. Jud, a Golden Retriever at my cousins' farm whom I remember as a pleasant old man, incredibly tolerant of me and my cousins' antics as kids. Zeke, my first ever dog (Cocker Spaniel x Poodle) and my best friend. Birdy, the baby song bird my cousins, uncle and aunt and I raised, who would, once full grown, come to visit us occasionally before he disappeared forever. Mittens, a sweet little feline of my cousins who would follow us around in the farm. Eventually died doing what she loved - climbing trees. Spook, the giant, sleek, black cat of my cousins who died at an old age, as regal and inspiring as always. Charlie, my cousins' Labrador, a constant companion on countryside expeditions. The many other pets, including birds, fish, dogs, cats and hamsters that my cousins had over the years which I would have taken home with me each time if I could. Bob, my first fish - a guppy - and an intensely interesting little guy. Jack and Kirk, my bettas who's beauty I found endlessly captivating. Riley, one of the puppies from a friend's latest litter of German Shorthaired Pointers, a beautiful little girl who died at five days.
Finally – all of the captured (and eventually released) snakes, frogs, tadpoles, grasshoppers, spiders, crickets, moths, and butterflies that helped to make my childhood interesting, who are, given their short life spans, surely dead by now. =)

You had so many hit by cars. BTW, all Siamese are shorthaired but Balinese look a little like Siamese except they've got a longer, silkier coat and different point colors. Balinese

In remembererance of puppy mill breeding stock!
Some humans in this world have decided With the worst selfishness and greed, That my fate shall forever be in a cage, And to pay my keep, I must breed.
I will never be a pet, only a breeding machine Please release me of this prison”, I bark in vain But the miller does not care of our sadness Or that we live out each day in great pain.
For you see as the miller’s property I never get to play or even be pet And when I get injured or sick The miller doesn’t bring me to a vet
Once again the miller comes to collect my pups Still so tiny, and sickly with eyes and nose runny I bark “It’s too early. They still need my milk!” But he ignores me for younger pups bring more money
My feet are always bloomin, cut by the wire floor And my legs are crippled from never being let to run In the winter I shiver; left out in the snow and rain In the summer the hot rays beat down from the sun
I am missing many teeth, the rest cracked and broken. All my fur is falling out in clumps from a terrible rash. And the world is always dark for infection has left me blind. But the miller does not care for I can still bring in cash.
As time goes by I feel my body is growing weaker each day. Ragged and worn, I look like I’m twelve though I’m only five. My uterus has become swollen and infected from too many litters And to breed lots of puppies is the only reason I’m kept alive
I can no longer make a product for him to sell. So I am now a burden and waste of money to feed I await my fate in silence. I’ve seen it all before. Now he is yanking me by the rope he uses as a lead
He drags me, my legs useless, deep into the woods to the spot As if I could get away, I am tied to a tree with an old rusty chain. I hear him put in the bullets. Then he raises the gun. And so in death I am finally freed of my cage and my pain.
There are many mill dogs out there with lives as sad as mine Please help stop the puppy mill business. You have an option. Don’t support mills by buying puppies from pet shops or bad breeders Instead, go to a local shelter or breed rescue and apply for adoption.
