More information please!

How old is he, what breed is he and how long is he left alone? How soon before you leave are you feeding him? Are you sure you're giving him time to to completely finish before putting him back in the house? Was he completely housetrained before he started doing this.

he is 6 months old and akita and australian cattle dog mix. usually don't feed him before we leave even if he does both he still poops in the house after we leave. he doesn't mess in the other than when he is alone. unless we are at work which could be from 8 to 4 hours a day but for the next couple of months its just a couple of hours like 3 or 4.

No I don't think it's seperation anxiety!

Are you only feeding a 6 month old puppy once a day? If so, he's overloading his stomach. And I'm guessing that you're not giving him time to empty his bowels completely before bringing him in and leaving him in the kitchen.

If you're only going to be gone for a few hours don't leave him any water. A young dog can't hold their water for more than 2 or 3hours.

oh no i have to dis agree with applesmom!!!

you are supposta leave a full bowl of food out 24/7 for a puppy beacuse they are growing so often they need there nutriunce!!!!

ok your dog may be doing this because the second you walk in the house im sure you walk into the kitchen and look for a mess...am i right? and when you see it you say oh no... you should have a nautty word..mine is ohhhh noo!! or ahhhh! and right away she knows she has done something wrong.

it could also be because he is still young and cant hold it for too long,

see my dog never really went to the bathroom in the house maby once or twice she caught on fast. but when we got away almost every time we come home she has something tore up or broke in the house. she gets mad that we left her and she takes her revenge out on any thing she can reach . tissiues, balbs for our christmas tree, news papper. any thing that we may forget to put up...

what you can do is well i hate to sound evil but when he dose it walk in the kitchen say oh non (or you chossen word) and well clean up, then DO NOT PAY ATTION TO YOUR DOG! thak him emiditly out side and the second he gose out side reword him tell him how good he is and play a littl e fetch with him with his favorit toy. when you go in the house walk through the kitchen with out saying a word the sit down with your dog and just pet him and talk to him.

* also you should walk your puppy for at least a half an hour befor you leave, walk him dont just leat him out side. then play around in the yard, so he gets tired*

****rember to always prais you puppy for going out side******

A dog will go on the same spot or in the same area over and over again. Correct this by letting him know you won't allow it. Try using some dog repellent spray on the floor.

You don't say whether he goes while your gone or after you return. If he's messes when you return it's probably because he's excited. Don't show any praise or excitement when he goes. Scold him if there's a mess after you come home. No matter how much time has passed,he must know that that's not allowed.
