Okay well I have a 5-7 year old rott/German shepherd cross. He has begun to lick and chew on his lower leg leaving soars! We took him into the vet about a year ago for this and he told us to use hydrocortazone spray on it to keep it from itching and he gave him some anti-biotics. He seemed to be getting better but now it is getting worse. The vet just said keep up with the spray. Now I have noticed that many rotts along the roads in our town lick their legs could it just be a rotty thing, or bordum or something, I try to pay attention to him alot but it is hard with school and working and stuff and my other animals. Please Help!

Your dog is allergic to the feed you are giving it. Time to change!

What are you feeding?

his feet have been starting to heal up now they are getting smaller, its wierd my vet never said anything about him possibly being allergic to his food, and he was the one that put him on it you think he would know that that is an allergy to it

I strongly suggest trying a better food, and one that doesn't have corn in it. That is the reason your dogs are chewing their feet.

Everyone hails vets as the know it alls of the dog world, but no one can know everything all the time.
