I wouldn't worry too much about the paper. Make sure to keep important papers out of her reach.

I don't think pencils are bad for cats to chew on.

There are some things that are poisonous for cats, so you do want to be careful about that. Chocolate, some plants, household cleaners tend to be very bad for cats.

She might be board. go and get her some toys for her to play with. a feather toy or some catnip balls to roll on the floor. They have videos of birds and other things your cat can watch on TV. also if you have the room a playmate might help. Just don't get one to young and make sure to introduce them right and not to leave them alone the first time till they get a custom to one another. A cheap inexpensive way to entertaine you cat is if you have any brown paper bags open them up and let her play, they love the crinkle sound. hope that helps. Smile

Nothing is "wrong" with her. My cat loves ripping paper, so I keep it up high where she cannot get it and problem is solved with that. To prevent her from chewing on other things take a trip to the pet store and get cat toys - string and shoe laces are a favorite and you dont need to go to the pet store for those. Those items can be found around the house. At night if you are really worried get a large dog crate and keep her in it with food, water, and lots of toys. See if that works and keep us updated Smile

poh aha we have similar names. i would not worry about your lil issue. its not a big deal b/c cats love to chew on things. i would suggest simply letting him play with a sock or peice of string. i left my purse on my bed one day and when i came home it was covered with teeth marks! my cat also has the audacity to destroy a library book ( harry potter 4 if you must know ) so dont worry. some stern talking and a couple toyss should solve your problem!

dont worry about this!! my cat does it to! I think it is a thing that comes natural to cats! but you have to be careful about what she chews on, she couls accidentally swallow something bad. If you go on Cat Chat there is a whole discussion on this that I started. I think you will find that alot of peoples cats do this. Big Grin

Don't let your cat eat string. They can swallow it, and it can be bad for them. Rubber bands are bad for them, too.

my cat does that too. he is around 1 and a half years. umm.. we pretty much just make sure he doesnt chew anything poisionus, and thats it. but try not to let him eat pencils: he could get splinters in his mouth. u could try getting him a chewing toy or something similar. sometimes i think animals will chew if they are bored but my cat chews and hes nor bord- he has TONS of toys.

Hi there! I wouldn't about it unless she gets somehting that might hurt her. One of my cats takes a cigarette out of my pack and eats it and they have plenthy of toys. She just likes the cigs for some reason, although I try to keep them out of her reach.
