Are there any natural flea treatments out there that aren't full of insecticides that could affect our dogs health or even kill them.
I'm using front-line plus on my dog, but it's really costly for a high schooler working at McDonald's 20some hrs a week.

I'd be interested also. I spend money on Advantage for my 2 dogs & my cat. $$$$$ I used to use Advantix which I loved, other than the $$, but I can't use it with a cat that plays with the dogs. This is the first time in 9 years that I found a tick on one of my dogs!!! I'm not happy with Advantage in that respect. I'd love to use a form other than prescription products but what would work?

I've tried several natural "treatments", everything from garlic or brewer's yeast in the food, to "natural" topical treatments, to diatomaceous earth. None of them have worked in the slightest. Frontline plus is in my opinion the only flea product that actually works the way it's supposed to (I live in Texas, results may be different in other areas.) If your dog doesn't show any ill effects from the treatments, don't worry about it. It will be a lot healthier and happier being flea free, than insecticide free. There are a lot of diseases and parasites carried by fleas that will shorten your dog's life faster than the pesticides will.
