My dogs are eating A LOT of dog poop.....one dog will only eat the other dog's poop, never her own...the other dog eats only his poop, frozen during the winter when you can't really clean it that well.....then they come inside and throw it up..(one time on my mom's couch *cringe*)..we tried forbid or whatever it's called, and it didn't work. we need help, as it's really disgusting and makes their breath smell horrible....

Doesn't Forbid only work if you spray it on whatever you want them to leave alone? If so, then why not just clean up the yard to keep them out of it. Cleaning it up is the only bullet proof solution.
Have you tried Deter? It's a pill made just for this purpose.
How old are your dogs? What are you feeding them?

This is disgusting and I don't see how anyone could condone 'kissing' a dog and/or commenting how 'clean' they are.

QUOTE This is disgusting and I don't see how anyone could condone 'kissing' a dog and/or commenting how 'clean' they are. QUOTE

Dogs are disgusting animals, but they're not any grosser than any of our other domestic pets. In my opinion, birds are the nastiest of the bunch, they carry more parasites and diseases that can be transferred to humans than any other animals. In the end, we love our pets anyway no matter how gross they sometimes can be.

To the origional poster. Since the forbid didn't work, it could be a dietary problem rather than a behavioral one. I don't know what you feed your dogs, but swiching to a better quality of food may help eliminate the problem. Good luck.

well no matter how disgusting it is it is natural and the fact is dogs mouths are healthier or cleaner then ours. say if a dog gets some kind of wound if it licks its own wounds rather then use medicine that we'd use on it the dog's wound would heal faster. now i dont know if its bacteria that does this or what i just know that its true

our dog used to eat cat poop. a friend suggested we put him on a more expensive food and we decided to put him on an all natural dog food. problem solved!

I noticed my puppy doing this or at least being very interested and licking his poop when I fed him anything with peanut butter in it. And especially when I was using peanut butter in his kongs. I eliminated the amount of peanut butter and the problem has gone away.

Dr Foster and Smith have tablets that you can give you dog. We have three dogs and have the same issue in winter. I believe it is called "Distaste". That seems to work for our three dogs.

It's not a fact, it's been dis proven many times. Dogs have completely different bacteria in their mouths from humans... They are not cleaner.

To the OP, what are you feeding your dog? As other mentioned, feces eating can come from nutritional issues.

I would start to frequently pick up poop from your yard to remove the risk. When I use the term risk, I mean risk. Eating poop causes more than just bad breath. It can also cause worms, which can lead to severe illness and even death. Start to monitor your dog when they go to the bathroom, and make sure they don't eat poop unless you want them to be VERY sick.
