Is anyone on here from Massachusetts? Or even New Hampshire? Are there any dog parks around that you know of? I live only 20 minutes from Boston, have a dog park in my area that I like, but would like to see some other options.

Also, anyone have any vacation spots they like to take their dogs to when they go away?

I live past 495 and know a lot this way. Tuft's veterinary college has a large farm field that they seem to encourage you to let your dog off leash but poop must be picked up, even off the trail. Its on Rt 30 on the westborough grafton line.

There's Delaney park on the Bolton Stow line. There's Callahan park in framingham which gets mixed reviews. There's ashland state park, about 4.5 miles around the lake. There's Upton state forest on the upton hopkinton town line. These are all places to walk with your dog off leash.

There are only 2 fenced dog parks that I know of in Mass, sharon dog park and medway dog park. The medway park requires a free permit. We tend to stick with hiking off leash and not go to the fenced dog parks. I hear Callahan has an area where people stand around and talk and let their dogs play.

I hope that helps. Try googling "massachusetts dog fun" for a great web site.

Really?

I live 20 minutes from Boston - in the Salem, Peabody, Beverly Area. So none of those are really all that close. There is one in Salem actually, but I have mixed feelings about it.. Thanks so much for the info. though! Very helpful and informative!

Here's a web site on rules for dogs for eastern beaches from Maine to Florida.
