I've just gotta share because I had such a great time today!
Well down the street from our house is a lake with meadows, feilds and woods with trails surrounding it. Since it's winter the lake is frozen of course and there is a small island in the center(it's not a very big lake).
Today I leashed up my two brutes of dogs and we headed down to the lake. There were a good amount of people about skiing and taking a stroll. We started out onto the lake, I unleashed the dogs and right away we met a man with a young rottie and an old over weight spitz. The dogs had a good time taking in each others scents.
Ok so to make a long story short(or try to), we had a fantastic time zig-zagging all over the lake and exploring the island in the cool winter sun. We met many more dog owners and their doggles. My dogs had a good play with all the company and snow.
Has anyone else here had similar satisfing experiences? Your quite welcome to share small stories or long ones, I'll be glad to read them!
When Arguss was a tiny puppy the two of us lived in an apartment complex. Arguss's first encounter with his species was with a yellow lab weimeraner mix named Toby who was a couple months old but still huge compared to Arguss. The two played very well together and it was funny to see a tiny little JRT pup playing with a big wiemeraner mix. When Arguss was older he met his girlfriend named Maggie, smooth fox terrier, who he met in obedience school. He would growl at any dog that came near her. Now he has 3 three best friends that he explores the neighborhood with, Tui and Leni the two rough collies and Bella the rottwieler pit bull mix. He still likes to hang around with Maggie the best though.
Today I took my beagle zoey out for a walk. We went to the local park and we found some other beagles there. Also, some other dogs. I found a new friend that has a beagle. It was wonderful.
