I took my dog to the dog park today and there was an aggressive dog there. My dog is a little timmed. The aggressive dog took my dog by the neck and being forceful. I decided that I would like because the other dog owners were paying no attention to there dog. As I called my dog to come so we could leave as she tried to get up the other dog grabbed her by the neck and would not allow her to get up. I asked the owners if they would call their dog off and the wife said I had an attitude. I belive I was correct in having an attitude. They said that was how dogs play. This is my 1st dog but I do know if a dog gab you by the neck thats not play is that correct

Aggressive neck grabbing combined with a showing of canines and growling would be a sign of a domineering dog. that's not play, that is serious. but if the dog was wagging his tail or wasn't standing stiff-legged or trying to make him or herself look big it probably was play.
that's odd...if you ask someone to call their dog, they should gladly do it.... Confused but everyone is different... Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

it is sometimes very easy to confuse aggression and play, i often confuse them as well. in this situation, i think we need more details before it can be decided which it was. have you visited the park since then? or talked to that owner of the "aggressive" dog?

at my dog park i watch the dog fur too see if their ridge is standing up and how there attidtude is and listen for any yelps, i get annoyed with people like that who think there dog is PERFECT when its acutally being agressive and then not doing anything about it, one dog keep biting at my dog heels and snarling and running in front of us, and i was trying to do the agility course but i couldnt becuase her owner wasnt doing any thing to stop it, plus the owner was glareing at me, for going in the small dog area for my puppy so he could use the agiltity course
