My name is Camisha and I am 32 years old. I have lost who I was about 8 years ago.

I was diagnosed with sub-acute renal failure, but made a full recovery. Duting the process, I was put on 80mg of Prednisone per day. Eight years later, I am still bearing the results of the steroid use. The "rounded look" that is the well noted side effect, is evident in my body, from my face to my thighs. When I left the hospital for the last time, I was a vibrant size 9-10. Now I am a size 20W. I went from weighing 165lbs to 210lbs in about 3 months, because I was taken off of the steroids. I stopped buying clothes because I don't feel comfortable in clothes anymore. When I do go and try on clothes, before I look in the mirror, I still see myself as that size 9-10 person.

Another effect of the steriod use is the decrease in my metobalism. I lost my appetite while going through the renal failure, and never regained it. I have gone to several doctors, and they all say the same thing-diet and exercise. I have done that, and there is no result. My stomach is still hanging, and my inner thighs are still "stuck" together. The pockets of fat are obvious, and it's to the point that I have some people asking me when my baby is due.

My self confidence is down, and I spend alot of time alone with my 3 children. I look at the surgery shows, and wish it was me. I finally made the decision and jump to go back to school and become a medical doctor, and I just want to go in as a new person with a new look and a new attitude. I just want to be me again. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE help me see me as the person that I am on the inside.

Thank you,
Camisha Terrell
