I caught part of the show where a woman had an elective tummy tuck. The surgeon discovered that she had hernias that he had to repair. They later revealed that years of wearing the gun belt as a police officer had contributed to the hernias!

I had an inguinal and umbilical hernia repaired that was covered by insurance. They were discovered after my OB/GYN noticed I had a huge separation in the diastases rectii during my second pregnancy, so that is why insurance kicked in. But I was blown away to see that show, as it offered an explanation to where my hernias may have come from!

I asked the surgeon that did my procedure if there was any type of plastic surgery available for my over proportioned butt, but he said that it usually resulted in less than desirable results. My question is, has anyone ever had a “Butt Reduction” and can it be done? My two pregnancies and years of road patrol where I spent time sitting in the drivers seat have given me a butt WAYYY out of proportion to the rest of me. All the squats and lunges can’t reduce its size, and it’s not a cute round butt, but a BIG amount of flesh and fat that is not pleasant to look at!

I am putting my extra change away to save for a butt reduction if it can be done, but I need to find out if it IS possible, and if there is someone that believes they could surgically produce aesthetic results. The doctor I spoke to was discouraging on that type of procedure, but I am hoping that techniques may have improved since I spoke with him!

Any input?
