Hello.. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about getting plastic surgery for removal of scars. When I was younger I struggled with self-injury/a.k.a. "cutting". Unfortunately, I have many scars on my body - mostly on my arms (shoulders to wrist) and on my legs (thigh to ankle). Having those scars seriously impacts my life negatively, and prevents me from being able to do even every day things - like wearing shorts, or shirts with too short of sleeves. Which is obviously strange when I live in climate that gets above 100 degrees in the summer. I am tired of dealing with people whose eyes veer in my direction. I am tired of looking at myself every day - and the pain of my past being shoved in my face, literally. It makes truly moving on very difficult. And often makes me sad. It's also very hard in my profession - I am a teacher, and I have had some kids in my class even ask. I am recovered now, but I feel as though I can't truly move on, and let go - because this is always there.
Anyone have any advice? Thoughts? I was also wondering how much surgery like this costs? I do not have much money. Any thoughts, feedback, suggestions, etc. is greatly appreciated. I have tried every cream and lotion and potion imaginable, and nothing has worked. Thank you for your time, everyone.
