Hey guys, Dr. Garth here! Hope you are enjoying the show. It is surreal for me to watch it every Monday.
Isn't Allen a stud. He is working very har. Next season you are going to see him walk, I am sure of it.
Some great episodes are coming. We are going to discuss the very real problems with insurance and we will see some patients struggle to get the care they so badly need.
It is an honor for me to have worked with these brave patients who have shared their stories with all of us, my hats off to them.
Weight loss surgery is not an easy way out. It is a tool that can help people who have tried so hard to escape obesity finally reach a healthy lifee. Tesha nad her mother are perfect examples. They work out and eat healthy now and are an inspiration.
Hi Dr. Garth, I enjoyed the show last night and i felt it truely gave a great perception of the surgery. I was so excited for allen to see how encouraged and enpowered he is getting. I go for my Gastric bypass on the 26th here in NY. Watching your show gives me more courage everyday that i am making the right choice! I look forward to watching your familys journey along with your patients whom life you truly change.
Dr. Garth, the show is awesome!! Your caring and the respect you have for your patients shows. (your father too) There is another show on TLC about a weight loss center in NY that is in my opinion very demeaning. Big Medicine is inspirational and very real. Keep up the good work!
As a patient of Garth's, I am thrilled that so many people get to see the fantastic care that he provides, both before and after the surgery. One of Garth's most amazing and wonderful characteristics is that he truly cares about each of his patients, and is actively involved in the follow up process...he comes to EVERY support group meeting we have!
I loved seeing the help that Austin provides to Allen as well. Exercise is a major part of the post-surgical process, and Austin does a great job of helping get that piece in place. Austin has great info that can help anyone trying to get fit, and you can see it on his website, fitandfunny.net. He is incredibly supportive, and understands how difficult it is to go from unfit to fit.
I've lost 200 pounds since I first went to Garth's office, and I couldn't have done it without his great program and Austin's amazing support. If I can be of support to you, email me at kimvalera@hotmail.com.
Dr Garth, I look forward to the show every week and sometimes twice a week. It is so moving and I am learning a lot. Thanks for you and your fathers contribution to this terrific informative show!
Dr. Garth, Big D, Mary Jo, Austin, and all of the other staff that make dreams reality for alot of people, KUDOS to all of you. You seem to have a really good bariatric program for your people to follow. I studied bariatric surgery for 2 years before making the very difficult decision to have the surgery. My surgery is June 26th and I am so excited. My journey began on Dec./05' and it has been a long and sometimes painful process. I do have some quirks that I have made known on other posts, but they are because I have been there and done that. I wish my bariatric doctor (although wonderful) had half of the bedside manner you do. Mary Jo, my psychiatrist only spoke with me for about 15 minutes and I haven't seen hide nor hair from him since. They only needed him for a referal to the insurance company. I love the show and already feel like I know Alan. He should tour the US when he is able to walk, people would love to meet him. Good luck to all of you on the success of the show including your patients.
Hi to the Doctors and staff, you have a great program and I love watching it. I am in the TMH Weight Loss program out at the WB location and they have a terrific staff that I just love seeing them every week. Well you have a wonderful show and please keep it up. The staff out at the WB location are doing great things with us. I find your show very motivationg as well, to see people overcoming the struggles in their life gives me inspiration. Thank you.
Hi my name is Jamie. I am a year out and am at my goal weight. I have gone thru so many changes in the past year. Wish I could say they have all been good. I watch the show to remind of where I came from and the decision process I had to go thru to get to this point. The show has helped me to remember what I should be doing and where my own personal program is lacking.
I have a great team of Drs. And the show has also showed me the other side of the story- what the Doc go thru- who would have thought? I totally see my Doc going thru allot of what you do on the show.
As a "RNY Alumni", I really enjoy watching the show! I heard about the show about 2 months ago and haven't missed an episode since. I am especially touched by Alan's story and his courage. How is Alan doing?
