We need to let our voices be heard by TLC and let them know we love this show and feel it is a public service to keep it! So, in that vein, I propose a roll call of those who want to keep Big Medicine on the air...just copy and paste and add your name on the roll call next.
I will start the roll call...

I agree. I am an avid fan of the show and it is very helpful. Please continue making these shows.
I also would like to see updates about the patients on your site.
I have come to care about Allen Mata and I was overjoyed to see him take his first steps since surgery.
This show is SO necessary to help combat "fat prejudice" as well as to give people real hope.
Please continue... this is an excellent show.

Please don't cancel it! This show makes many people feel that they are not alone and that there are some doctors and others who don't look down their skinny noses at us. They are actually caring and willing to help. I believe Americans need to see that us "morbidly" obese (hate that term) are just people like them. We are mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, office managers, teachers, nurses, and even doctors!

I have to agree. I was on the show, and it has allowed me to help a lot of people, which is why I did it. Believe me when I say it was not easy to let all of the viewers see me essentially naked and watch my trials and tribulations as I went through it all, but the response from the viewers who were touched by the show made it all worthwhile. It is also great to see these fantastic surgeons helping to change lives and, hopefully in the process, educate people about morbid obesity and a very effective way to cure it.
Count me in the list of viewers who wants Big Medicine to continue!!

Big Medicine is one of the finest shows on tv. DO NOT CANCEL PLEASE! If you want to cancel something, cancel your "tattoo" or "hot rod" shows; they're useless! Maybe TLC doesn't care about the quality of their shows anymore; that's what it will seem if Big Medicine is cancelled. That show has helped so many people! How many have your "tattoo" and "hot rod" shows helped? TLC will lose at least one viewer if Big Medicine is cancelled.

I think you are all beating a dead horse. I just went to the TLC site and of all the programs they show, BM is not listed as far as I can see. In another post, Robdoc said in so many words: "It seems that TLC noticed that they had several unscreened completed episodes in their possession. So apparently, they have decided to show them one after another in May." I find it hard to believe that TLC misplaced episodes of any show! I'm sure no one will agree with me, but I still think there is something that just isn't ringing true. Remember the gentleman that had his surgery scheduled, then cancelled, so he fired the doctors. Then he hired them back. Has anyone seen or heard about that man? I think he is the one that something happened to. The doctors were skeptical about operating on him, but decided to do it, perhaps they were wrong. Also, what happened to Tiffany when she went home. Too many questions, and no answers. I love the show. I live with a lady that is morbidly obese and I see what she goes thru every day. I sympathize with her, but she has a terrible time with commitment. She needs to lose weight to have the surgery and she just does not do it. I wish the show would come back too. I'm not trying to be a downer, but what I have said is true. Why doesn't another channel pick up the show, it is an obvious hit. It will help people, but it doesn't look good for this show. That's sad, I truly believe without it Allen and Marc would still be bed bound. That's my story, I hope the show comes back. With the way the obesity is rising, a show like Big Medicine is just what they need for a wake up call. Bless the ones that have had the Dr's Davis to help them, hopefully we will see them help more.

I really enjoy this show, and it helped me become comfortable with having gastric bypass surgery. I regularly watch the show and would be very upset to lose it! This show helps so many people see what REALLY happens with weight loss surgery - not only the negatives that people tend to focus on because of naivety. KEEP BIG MEDICINE!!!!

Please do not cancel this show!!! It is truly a reality show - they are not afraid to address the physical as well as they psychological issues that the Super Morbidly Obese population has to deal with. They are also quick to point out that this is not a magic solution, it is only a tool and only works if you are committed to working the TOOL. Please save this show from cancellation!!

I absolutely love Big Medicine. Having had a bypass and now looking into Plastic Surgery, it IS my life. I have referred so many people to the show as a starting point in their quest for better health. I think one of the reasons it didn't have a wider appeal is they didn't promote it enough. Most people I talked to said they never heard of it. Please bring it back!!!

I had RNY nearly 4 years ago. I have lost my excess weight and am looking forward to eventually getting plastics. I LOVE Big Medicine. It realistically portrays what is necessary to get weight loss surgery, the weight loss process, and the end result ~ increased health and an improved life. It also is honest about the excess skin and educates about the plastic surgery that may be required to achieve a "normal" body. PLEASE don't cancel this show. Obesity is an epidemic and weight loss surgery may be the only way many people can achieve a healthy weight. Unfortunately, the media only shows the complications. We need the balance that Big Medicine offers.

I want to see Big Medicine come back. This show was a tool for those of us who have had the surgery, want the surgery or are trying to educate others about the surgery. So many shows focus on vain plastic surgeries and this is one that puts a different light on weightloss surgery and reconstructive surgery. It would be a real shame if that point of view were no longer offered.

Big Medicine is a great show that depicts REAL people who are battling obesity and doctors who truly care about their patients. So many people who are contemplating surgery watch this show as they can relate to the patients who are featured. Showing the reconstructive plastic surgery post-weight loss surgery is just as important! Please bring the show back!!!

Please do not cancel this show... I learned so much from this series .. It helped me make a more informed decision about gastric bypass I am hoping to have surgery soon.. I learned there is much more to this surgery than the surgery itself. There are the emotional aspects and support from family.. there is no other show that shows all these areas. There are many overweight people in the world and we all need the encouragement and hope and valid information this show provides so again I hope u reconsider canceling this show.. Thanks so much Cathy A from Lubbock Texas

Big Medicine has touched the heart and soul of many people. Obesity is a disease, one that the average weight American does not understand. Morbid Obesity is one of the few acceptable forms of discrimination left on this earth.......Big Medicine, Drs. Robert and Garth Davis, Dr. LaMonaco and others have made the life of morbid obesity, what one goes through from contemplating surgery, having WLS, the emotions, the skin issues one faces after, etc. a part of what we that have lived morbidly obese real.
I'm babbling so let me just say "PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL BIG MEDICINE", we need these type of Reality shows; where compassion and understanding is shared; love, understanding and support are needed.

Big Medicine is very important to many people including myself. So, please don't cancel this show. Dr. Garth and his father have helped so many people have the tool to change their lives for the better with weight loss surgery. This coming week I am getting my Gastric By-pass Surgery with Dr. Garth Davis! I can't wait to get started on the rest of my life. Without this surgery my life span with all of my health issues would not have been as bright as it will be with my surgery. That is why this show is so important and what it is all about!!! Because it lets others know like myself who are Morbid Obease that there is help out there for all of us and there is a solution to our weight problem. Thank you. Tina Phillips Baytown, Texas

Please bring back Big Medicine. Dr Garth and Dr. L are as wonderful in person as they are on the show. It's so nice to see genuine care and concern and help for those in desperate need. I had my weight loss surgery just over a year ago and I know where so many of these people have been and I know there is hope for them. The public needs to see that as well.

Please I am imploring with you to reconsider and bring Big Medicine BACK!!!This show helps so many people and makes such a huge impact for so MANY people who struggle with obesity. We have spent so many years of our lives not having a voice, self esteem or opportunities. Dr. Garth and Dr. Robert Davis offer those voices for us. This show is real, honest and worth your decision. Stand up and be the network that offers value, compassion and hope where so many fail. Big Medicine is about real people who needed a chance- give the show the same consideration. Thank you and please feel free to contact me!!!!

Just wanted to let you know that you can count me in your vote to keep Big Medicine on the air. I too was featured on Season 2 of Big Medicine. I cannot tell you how many, many people that I have been able to help and encourage because they saw the show. Unless you struggle with obesity you do not know or understand the extreme level of lonliness that you feel. Big Medicine has brought hope to so many people, and help educate America on an awesome tool that can change their lives forever. The show was a true inspiration for me and I have heard numerous people say the same thing. I hope that you will reconsider your decision to cancel Big Medicine. The TLC Network brought hope and inspiration to so many people in the world with this show it would be terrible to take that away from your viewers.
I have to agree with Tanya. I too am a very proud patient of Dr. Garth Davis. And look forward to being a patient of Dr. LoMonaco's ;-)

Please DO NOT CANCEL Big Medicine. This is one show that I enjoy watching and it gives me so much hope and inspiration. I am "Super Morbidly Obese" and by watching this show, I realize I am not alone in my struggles with weight. I love the transformation all the patients got through and I am so glad they care enough to share their stories. We need this show to help get the word out that the surgery isn't a bad thing. It's a tool to help people with their stuggle to lose the weight that they can not lose on their own. We need this show to help get insurance companies to get on board with this program and make the approval process easier. We need BIG MEDICINE to stay on the air. PLEASE, keep it on!

Please do not cancel Big Medicine. This is the show that helped me get the courage to go to a surgeon and ask for help. I can't possibly express in words what this show means to me and to my family. Having this type of life changing procedure is a huge life decision and commitment. This show not only educated me but also my family about what could be expected. Not only should the surgeons be applauded for their commitment to the show and to their patients but... the patients should be commended for their bravery. Those people shared a very personal and private time in their lives so the rest of us could learn from them. I for one think it would be a huge disservice to everyone to have this show go off. Our country is experiencing an obesity epidemic. Isn't this show a great way to educate the population??? Please do not take this show off the air.

This show is very important to people who are considering or have had the types of surgery discussed on the show. but the audience isn't that limited. there are others who are curious, have family members who may be in need of such help, the medical community who may want to see the patients views and probably other niches I can't think of at four in the morning. It is a well produced and entertaining show. Very human. Which is part of it's draw, but only part. To cancel this show would mean canceling a voice that has been muted in this society for a very long time. Obesity is a problem. Obesity is here and has been for a long time. Lets shine a light on a hidden epidemic that has long since been only a joke and bring it to light. Here's something we can do to help combat what's going on except laugh at the people who suffer with what it's like to weigh that much. It's not a weakness. Canceling this show would only fall into the belief that obesity is our own faults. This show supports and gives hope to many that there is a chance to live a regular life after so many attempts thru the traditional methods. Keep Big Medicine on the Air. Provide a silently growing minority with a voice. And that's not a joke.

As someone who suffers from morbid obesity, I can relate to the struggles faced by those brave enough to appear on Big Medicine. I applaud their willingness to allow us access to their lives. In doing so, they bring hope to many.
I'm in the process of meeting insurance requirements so I may be approved for weight loss surgery. I don't consider it "controversial." If you're diagnosed with a tumor, you have it removed so you have a better chance of living a healthy life. Weight loss surgery is no different. If you're diagnosed as morbidly obese, you have surgery to have a better chance of living a healthy life.
I can't tell you how much I enjoy watching Drs Robert, Garth, LaMonaco, and Mary Jo. Big Medicine offers encouragement, and answers questions. It fills in the gaps between my own doctor visits. An hour spent with them is far more than I get when I go to my doctor.
It's obvious that the medical professionals on Big Medicine aren't "actors," they're simply doing their job while the cameras are rolling.
I miss seeing follow ups on the patients we've come to know and love. Morbid obesity is becoming far too common an occurrence in today's society. There are too many Big People in an ever growing Big World.
Thank you Drs Robert, Garth, LaMonaco and Mary Jo, as well as all other medical professionals and patients for sharing your knowledge and skills with us.
Thank you TLC for bringing awareness and hope through Big Medicine. PLEASE consider continuing to share this gift with us.

I agree with others. Please do not cancel BIG MEDICINE. This shows offers encouragement and inspiration to those struggling with obesity. It also offers hope. This shows offers education into WLS and shows it is not the "easy" route. I think the informative nature of the show brings awareness to our society on how widespread obesity is. Dr. Garth, Dr. Robert and others are making themselves and their practice open in hopes that it will help others. Obesity is a growing health problem for millions of people across the US; by airing this show you are providing access to very informative and educational topics to those who need to hear it. The network needs a show like this.
