Dr. Garth Davis performed my lap-band surgery nearly 6 months ago. I couldn't ask for a better surgeon or a better team of experts at Methodist's Weight Management Center. I've lost nearly 40 pounds so far and have absolutely no regrets.

One thing I've learned throughout this journey is that you have to be honest with yourself. And holding that mirror up and judging yourself is alot harder than judging others.

It took my 30-year-old brother dying of a drug overdose for me to look at myself and ask what was controlling MY life. And it was food. Now, I've learned to be honest with myself, confront those demons, and I am well on my way to living the life I've dreamed about for so many years.

Congratulations soprano671! I am one person that definitely understands fighting the demons! I had to fight before and after surgery. After surgery I went to alcohol. Thank goodness for MaryJo. She was my post op counselor and really gave me the push I needed!
