Thank you so much! my sister had the surgery done as well (and will be on a later episode). I THINK I am on her show, but thanks for the positive feedback! It's so nice to hear!
It was crazy watching myself on TV. On one hand you feel totally exposed and I was revealing weight issue that I had kept VERY close to my heart. So discussing them on TV and then watching it, left me feeling vulnerable. However, it truly was like releasing the "old me"...if that makes any sense? Kind of like by talking about it really made me let go of a lot of insecurities.
Anyway, I am SO GLAD that I had the surgery and was involved with the most wonderful doctors. Everyday gets better and better.
No, it just looked like it. There were 2 seperate shots and one was water, the other was diet coke (which is a no no, I do realize that) but sometimes I have one. I figured better that than alcohol....
You should avoid sodas because of the carbonation. It's not good for the pouch, and, I believe, potentially causes problems with the body's ability to absorb calcium.
Penelope...My sister and I had Open RNY in 2003, it's hard to believe we are 4 years out. I am curious of you and your sisters reaction to each other....It's great fun at first, the shopping for new clothes, etc. But what if one succeeds more than the other? My sister and I are dealing with this. I am the oldest, she is the middle child. I would love for you to re-inspire her (she's gained about 40lbs back) and I can't do it.....I can barely get her to watch the show.....
My favorite thing is the complimentary reply your ex posted. Wow! That says volumes about you and him!
Enjoy life, I can tell you did before and the new you is living it to the fullest! I would love to exchange more detailed e-mail....loraidealfitness@yahoo.com
Hi. My sister is the older one and I am the middle child (they say typical? hahah) Anyway, you are right we are still in the very new stages and we are enjoying every minute. We are very close and we have both strugglde with our weight for a long time. The only thing that bothers me is I have lost 120 pounds and she has lost 55, she weighs 205, I weigh 240...so she is much smaller than me at this point (she obviously had less to lose).....so the race is still on...buth she will reach her goal first. THAT BOTHERS ME.....but I we are so excited for each other.
I can understand the frustration of gaining weight back, I had done that with every diet I have ever been on and talk about wanting to give up. I'm not sure yet about gaining after surgery (as I am still in the losing phase) but I will say my eating habits, drinking habits, and work out habits have totally changed. I am HOPING that because of this change, the weight won't come back...
I'm sorry to hear your sister is so upset. I would be more than happy to talk to her. Is she hear in Houston? She could even come work out with me (and my hot trainer..hahah). I NEVER thought I would get to the point where I wouldn't mind having a hottie watch me work out....but I'm there.
Anyway, please let me know if you have any other questions and what I can do to help your sister (if anything?).....
Keep up your great work and thanks for letting me know your story. I have hadd such great responses and replies. I cannot wait for my sisters show,so people can relate to her as well. We are total opposites!
