Does anyone know if the liquid diet they prescribe is a prescription or is it OTC (over the counter). If it is OTC - what is the name of it and where can I get it?
I've heard of people just using Slim Fast, but the one they use on the show is New Direction. From my understanding it is a prescription, but I also found that you can buy it on Dr. Davis' web-site (surgerybydavis.com).
Hi, I am on the liquid diet with Methodist and they use the New Direction shakes. You have to be in their program to get these shakes. They are quite tasty and filling. Mary
I was on liquid meal replacement prior to my WLS (Lapband). My bariatric group uses Champion Nutrition shakes. Each shake contains all the nutrition you need in one meal. I got them from my surgeon, but you can get them directly from the Champion Nutrition website. They weren't bad tasting and they were filling. I lost 10 lbs. in two weeks from the meal replacement shakes prior to the surgery.
Hi all, just a suggestion here. I love and drink BOOST. I just drink the regular, although they have the High Protein. I like it about mid morning for a pick me up. I am not on a diet, I just like it. They have Vanilla, Strawberry and my favorite, Chocolate. It is delicious. It is rich in Potassium and Protein and lotsa good stuff. Try it you'll like it! Take care.
hi, i had wls in 1998 and was told never to use slim fast ,because it had alot of fiber in it and it would strech my stomach out...but as for using slim fast low carb might be different after the surgery maybe ok check with your dr.s before using...god bless
Hi - I just had my lap-band surgery in Minnesota in August. My hospital suggested any protein shake, so I opted for Slimfast, 6 times a day for 10 days. Worked like a charm!
