I want to start out by saying that i have enjoyed reading comments and personal experiences.

I wanted to comment on the "nature vs nurture" debate that has been tossed around. I grew up in foster care from age 8 and was allowed no contact with my biological family. When I became an adult and got back into contact with them I was amazed at how much I look like them, especially my mother. We even carried our extra weight in the same strange places. I just feel that there has to be something there.

My question is about the psychological evaluations that surgeons require prior to surgery. What are they looking for during those evals?
When I was growing up in foster care, I was required to go through psychological counseling because of the living situation or lack thereof.
I'm worried that it would automatically disqualify me for the surgery. I personally feel that it is a plus for me. I know what a stigma that still carries with it, even in the medical community.

Feedback would be greatly appreciated.
