Hi Penders2669,

I am sorry you are having such a rough time. Please hang in there and do not give up on yourself. You can do it!!

I just wanted to give you some insight about the show. All of the people on the show including myself do not receive any monetary compensation for doing the show. The surgeries, doctor visits, vitamins etc. are still your own responsibility. What we all get from doing the show is the ability to help and encourage someone in their journey, which in my opinion is awesome compensation!

Stay strong and keep fighting! I wish you the best of luck!

Sincerely,

Melissa

As Melissa pointed out, just because you are on the show, that doesn't mean they do the surgery for free. You (or your insurance) still have to pay for it. If you have a doctor do it that is closer to you, you wouldn't have the added cost of travel to and from Texas and possibly a hotel. Plus every time you would need to go for a follow-up appointment, that would be an added expense. I would try to find a doctor closer to you.

I definitely feel the same way you do. I am 33 and I've been overweight since high school. After graduation with nothing to do, I blew up by being bored and nowhere to go. I would be happy to get things taken care of so I could be here for my son. I'm struggling too much now as it is and it seems to be getting worse everyday. I do feel your pain!
