Hello there, My gecko has been having a bit of a problem recently. He has been unable to shed fully and it is getting worse. He was having a hard time shedding around his toes and then it spread to around his head. I usually use warm water and a q-tip to gently get it off. Recently it has become worse and his eyes are particularly bad. I use calcium powder, etc and feed him crickets pretty regularly. Does anyone have suggestions/ advice? Thanks so much for the help!

Do you have a moist hide for him to shed in?

My gecko was having problems shedding too, until I gave him a wet hide. Now he's fine.

Thanks for the advice, yeah I have a small plastic hide with damp moss but he doesn't use it...he likes to hang out under it actually. What kind of floor material do you use?

I use coconut husk as the main floor, and then moss in the hide.

I have a warm hide for him, and then the wet hide has a dish underneath to hold the moisture, and then a hide over it for him to go in.

I use moist paper towels for my leo's hide and she loves it.Although lately she's actually been hiding under a shamefaced crab molt.
