Hi all =]

This is my frist time posting a topic in this forum.I love to watch the mybusters, truly.

BTW, there're few problems from the mythbusters' website.

I could't stream the videos which uploaded from the mythbusters website or download the websites smoothly.

also I couldn't watched some of the video from the website, coz the system banned some of the IP-address and here's the problem.

Well, as a matter of fact I come from asia.
I know that most of the fans on this website are come from Western.

Hopefully, discovery.com can add more oversea bandwidth for the webservers. Thanks!

p.s. If I posted this topic in a wrong place,
please let me know and I would delete it.

p.s.2 ENGLISH isn't my mother language, I would apologize if I've got any grammer mistakes.

You have to live in the USA to be able to watch some of the videos posted on this board. This is not unique to Discovery, the same holds for CBS as well.

The quality of those video's you can watch depend on the speed of your internet connection and the specifications of your computer. Discovery seems to stream high resolution videos, which (naturally) require higher modem speeds to view correctly. Possible solutions you could try are;

You could try pausing the videos and waiting for a few minutes. This allows the computer to get a head start in buffering a video.

Make sure that all your drivers are up to date.

Install a web-browser other than windows explorer - Firefox is a good one to look at, and its free. Sometimes videos will not run - or not run well - on one browser while running fine on another. (You do not have to uninstall explorer - you can have multiple browsers on your system, and use which one you want to).

Check your firewall. This can slow internet connections if not correctly configured, or if you have two running at once. A Common mistake is to have two firewalls running at once - remember that windows comes with its own firewall.

Your English is fine. In fact it is a LOT better than many of the people who come here for whom it is their first and only language. Smile

Same holds for Discovery.ca. I've tried to link clips from shows that are unique to Discovery Canada but, it seems only Canadians are allowed to view.

I dunno..... seems pretty shifty if you ask me. What, exactly, are you people hiding up there?

I think that the desire is to try and prevent people outside the USA/Canada from being able to copy and view episodes before they are aired in those countries.

Its a question of money - basically the companies who make the programs will not make any that way since they have to be able to convince advertisers that people will see the shows. And of course American adverts are somewhat wasted on people who don't live there, and can't buy those products even if they wanted to.

Nothing sinister, just good (if very annoying) business sense.

Bigfoot, Jimmy Hoffa, The Grays, an itemized inventory of Area 51 and Hitler's brain.

Is that all?

I was afraid it was something important, like decent health care, or a 2nd Bob & Doug movie.

By the way, Global (Canada) does have a Bob and Doug animated series.
