What is up with the narrator? So many mispronounced words, can't they do a rehearsal so he can learn it right?
methane : mee thane
patent : pay tent
etc. Every show - it drives me crazy.

"Mee-thane" and "Pay-tent" are perfectly acceptable ways of pronouncing the words, just as "meth-ane" and "pat-ent" are.

Pronunciation of words differs both by accent and country.
Aluminium is pronounced as Alu-min-ium in British English, and as a-lumi-nuim in American English for example. (I'll admit to spending about two years as a kid wondering what metal Americans had that I knew nothing about....).
Different pronunciations can, therefore, all be correct.

You mean the guy who was born in England, raised in Canada and lives in Australia isn't speaking 'proper' American ?

Wheels: American English is not the only version of English.
