Hello. This fall/winter I want to makeover my basement for my husband. He's always working on something around town and never has time to do it himself. This weekend he's throwing a charity event for cancer, and he was helping dj the relay for life last week. I bought him a pool table for the "den" he wants in the basement, but it's still sitting in pieces in the basement. I am not too handy, but I don't want to pay for a carpenter to come down. Any quick budget ideas, or advice on getting on the show? The basement houses my washer and dryer and the furnace/hotwater tank in in the center of the room. (I know this is an annoying place for it, but I think I can closet it in without it damaging the actual devices.)
