These two girls irritated me right from the start, spoiled, lazy, and disrespectful of thier father. I feel sorry for who marries them. Mr Wise was ok, i felt sorry for him being strapped with his daughters, but he kept an amazing positive attitude and showed alot of patience, kudos to him. i dreaded everytime the camera went back to thier camp for reports, all i could think of was a dad in the wild with two infant daughters.

This show was ruined by these 2 twits. Dad needs a prescription for 2 testicles.

Well, what can I say that hasn't already been said. Dad was stuck for three months with two juvenile, selfish, self centered daughters. But I think dad gained a tremendous amount of respect from all who watched. He knew that what they were going through was going to be possible the greatest thing that all three will remember for the rest of their lives. He overlooked the disrespect and hateful attitudes of his daughters and kept cool and calm. He was wanting to make a memory for not just him but just as importantly for his daughters. He knew that they (the daughters) weren't mature enough to realize the importance of what they were going through and he showed how good of a father he is (I think)to try to make the best of the situation in spite of his daughters.

What I took in: All of the above. I've been on group wilderness trips (grand canyon, appalachian trail, etc). There is ALWAYS at least 1 who makes it miserable for everybody else. I've become people phobic because of that. I'll go alone and starve to death before going with any group. But mainly, their natural insensitivity and boorishness. When Jeff and Elizabeth hiked to the Wise's - Mr. Wise went on and on about how fabulous their accommodation were, fish jumping into their inexperienced hands, indoor plumbing (ewww). Jeff and Elizabeth were obviously shocked at the disparity in accommodations and easy access to food. Dad rattled on about seeing the hand of god, look at this and that. Thanks, beat me up with your undeserved good fortune. I think their Alaska experience gave them an even more inflated opinion of their abilities and 'strength' as a family.

Apparently Jennifer Wise broke her contract with the producers by posting here one morning, several days ago. Her comments were deleted, but she made several interesting points. She said that it was a major reality check for her family when they realized just how shafted Jeff and Elizabeth had been. You didn't see that couple continue on their trek along the Gulf of Alaska beach for clams and fish because the Wise family, humbled, sent them off with half of their remaining salmon and a number of other supplies. I think that it served the producers' interests to let us all think the Wise girls were terrible from start to finish. I'm glad that I got a bit of "the rest of the story".

Okay.
So this was just a 'Real World' with lots of snow and outhouses? Then never mind what I said about the Wise's.
How buff was Tim! Who knew he had a 6 pack under all that gear.

quote: "the rest of the story".
I have no doubt these girls will forever think *they* are the victims here. The reality is they should feel embarrassed and stop trying to defend their actions. They may have helped Jeff and Elizabeth, but for all we know the dad might have had to argue with the girls to do it (not so far fetched). Producers fudge stories and events to make things more interesting for TV, but those kids were nothing but themselves, you cant fake or get caught in that level of immaturity.Even this thread got acquaintances of theirs to come forward to say "YUP, they really are like that!"

I love this show, but these girls are horrible. There is nothing “wise” about them or their behavior. They are so disrespectful towards their father. They should be embarrassed of their behavior!

I wouldn't consider Mr. Wise's daughters as dumb, obnoxious at times, but not dumb, at least they stayed put with their father and the cabin. They did not go off making a 40 mile "visit" during an Alaskan winter, leaving a perfectly good and well stocked shelter behind. When the one daughter did leave to go on a moose hunt, she had someone with her that had a little more respect and knowledge for the situation she was going to been in.

"Hey dad, guess what...BITE ME". The common garden slug of a daughter said that at least twice to her testiculatly challenged father. The other puke of a daughter then gloats about her father's impotence, and inability to do anything about their berating of him on camera. I certainly hope that Mr. Wise doesn't have any serious health issues. I think that his testicles were just trying to remind him that he actually has a pair.

I congratulate Mr. Wise for not feeding the bodies of his daughters to the bears.

The Wise girls may have some redeeming qualities but they were well hidden. They showed the entire Discovery Channel viewing audience how absolute brats should act. Their actions make me realize why some animals eat their young. I would rather drink muddy water and sleep in a hollow log than to put up with those two.

The wise girls are nasty. Hopefully they read this blog. Hopefully they will watch the way they act and step back and look at themselves for the disgusting human beings that they are.
As for the one twisting her ankle, I believe its call a hoof.
Like most obese people these girls are clearly miserable.

Were it the case that my every move was being filmed and recorded on camera for broadcast on national tv, I would be careful to watch my tongue.
They had to know that their bad behavior might end up on the show, and honestly, I dont think that they could help themselves.
This makes me doubt some conspiracy on the part of the producers to portray the girls in a bad light. Their actions speak for themselves, IMHO.
One criteria that I have always used to judge character is "how do you treat your parents." I doubt seriously that they are aweful to their father, and saintly at all other times.

On the final interview episode, the Wise daughters were more subdued, along with several other volunteers. You don't go through that type of experience without having some sort of life long effect being put on you.

The only better life long impact those girls need is a 6' dirt nap. They are the nastiest beings on TV. I can't even call them humans.
God help anyone that thinks they are worthy of spending any time with.

wow !! Thats wat I got to say about the 2 girls!! I mean come on, they volunteered to go to the Alaska experiment and then once they get there, they start complaining and crying how tired they are! Well first of all, they hardly drank anything while hiking to the cabin, second they almost ATE everything once they got there! PIGGING out on peanut butter, I was really laughing hard there ! If they knew they were coming, they should have a least tried to get into shape. Oh && another thing, did you see how they were talking to thier father? How disrespectful ! I couldn't believe that, she was arguing with her dad and cussing him out!! I give kudos to the dad for putting up with that !

Wow, some of the comments here seem a little harsh. Dirt nap? Anyone who thinks that needs to get some perspective which shouldn’t be too hard considering some of the things happening in the world today. To me they seemed like spoiled brats in the beginning but you could tell that by the end they had gotten a major attitude adjustment. Initially I thought they were sent there only to fail even though they had the easiest (if you can call it that) place to live. I was actually impressed that they were able to pull it together and ended up doing as well as they did. My biggest disappointment was that they all (dad too) seemed to revert back to some of their old habits when it was over.

I recorded each episode on my DVR because I had college classes during the time that the show was on.
Every single time they would cut to the Wise wimps, I would fast forward. I could not stand those two.
