Sorry folks, but I really just wanted to reach in and grab those three folks up who had plenty of meat with that goat that was shot, but decided to go visit their friends who only were three or four days walk away, and knock their heads together and shout "What the H**** is wrong with you, you do NOT go visit someone in a situation like this on the spur of the moment and without taking two times the supplies that you believe that you will need!
Its a good thing that there are "experts" monitoring the events cause had they been out there alone they might have killed FIVE people and that would have been a crying shame. I guess that when you take these kids who never been out of the city and put them out in a situation as this was some mistakes are going to be made. But to tell you the truth, had they walked into our place like that when the snow was flying they would have been out in the snow and gathering fire wood at the very least.

On a different note, I have to wonder why none of these people are setting snares for small game? It only make sense to maximize any chance of obtaining needed supplies.

What makes the trek to Hawkins Glacier even stranger is that the Flower Lake Trio did not know Greg and Bernice. So it wasn't visiting friends.

It did make it interesting the see that Greg & Bernice were kind & generous in many ways to their unexpected guests. I'm sure the guests didn't want to trek back to their place or they would have. Having guests in your own home gets crazy (expected or not). I'm sure they all helped in many ways - especially with cabin fever, talking & sharing experiences kills time fast, but being so cramped in that tiny cabin - ouch. They did have some knowledge of the needs so I'm not sure why they didn't pack more of their rations (thinking of themselves only??).

I thought they would have turned around after they noticed everything going wrong, and yeah i wouldnt have gone visiting strangers especially in the winter conditions. but i wonder if some of that bad decision making was a result of cabin fever. in reality it could have been a grave decision they made.

They were probably goaded to make the trip - they had it too good at their place so the producers probably made the suggestion... an idiot thing to do in winter.
