Thank you so much. iwish I knew more people here in Broken Arrow Ok. so we could get together as well. My doors will be open to anyone interested. Fell free to email me at monica.lunasco@chrisnikel.com if interested. Thanks again bn2bwild.
I heard earlier (3:30 pm eastern time US) that the public Memorial for Steve will be held next week at Austrilia zoo. It was stated that Terri felt that this was the best place for it.
On another note, I want to become a wildlifewarrior but I don't have a credit card. Is there anyway that I can send a money order with my donation? I know that in time all this will be settled out but I want to help now because I can do so now.
Donna, Yes it's will be televised but not sure it will be televised worldwide. They have one week to put this all together. Don't know if Discovery - Animal planet has the capability to pull themelves together that fast to do a live show. Their Nielson Ratings would be thru the roof if they did.
deernecklancewoman, Here's a WW email & phone # you can use. Tracy is the person you want to contact.
Hey I agree with grr-animal, you should post the idea about celebrating his birthday too. You came up with this wonderful idea. And I think it is the right thing to do, at the moment we are remembering him and grieving for him, praying for his family and friends, his birthday will be a great opportunity to celebrate his life and everything he achieved and try to promise ourselves that we will do at least one good thing to help his cause each year.
Thanks to you my family now feel able to take part in the memorial service and I agree, it's a shame we don't have live chat but as long as we all go for 11.30 our time it will be amazing, we will all know that everyone else is participating.
Phoenix East Valley area, AZ- are there any others who would like to join my daughter and I at the park for a candlelight vigil for Steve or has anyone heard of anything else going on perhaps at the Phoenix Zoo? Otherwise we will just be lighthing a candle for the night at our home, but hope to find some others to join us. Thanks. Please e-mail me at hilyanne@yahoo.com
G'day guys, It's Lyn here. I live an hour from Australia Zoo, in Queensland, Australia. I've been doing the ''''''LOVE HEARTS FOR STEVE''''''
Just thought I would let you know, and you can follow it up if you want to. The main song that will be played at Steve's Memorial is a song Written and Sung by Australia's JOHN WILLIAMSON.
The name of the song is 'TRUE BLUE'
John Williamson is actually performing the song at the Memorial....
It is a great song, has a lot of Aussie lingo in it. The most important thing is that Steve loved it. Put into your 'search online'
...TRUE BLUE Lyrics and Audio,John Williamson...
and you should be able to easily learn it if you'd like. Lyn

topmummy, I did create a new topic regarding having a vigil for Steve on his birthday. It's name is: "Join us 4 Steve-O Birthday Bond-fire on 22nd February 2007" Shortcut: http://community.discovery.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/9691947048/m/3741995348 Thank you all for your support and helping do what YOU can to get the word out to as many people as possible.
ALready the story has gotten twisted as to WHEN. A friend on myspace sent out a bulletin that there is a candlelight vigil tonight. Yep.. I did correct her. She had gotten the info from someone in UK. SO.. the word is spreading fast that there is a vigil on Monday at 11:30 AM Brisbane, AU time, and again on the day of Steves Memorial service. As yet we have no time when eveyone could light a candle for the Wednesday ceremony.
ALSO- If eveyone who has time could contact their local ABC news, or CNN.. whatever.. ask if they are the network doing a live coverage of this service. When they figure out that this is BIG and viewers will watch.. maybe someone will pick up the coverage and broadcast it.
cbtree and everyone in this thread I sent the following to Discovery Channel/Animal Planet Member Relations
"Please will you be airing the satelite feed of Steve Irwin's Memorial Service..There are so many supporters of all the Discorvery Channel and Animal Planet's programing that so wish to be able to participate in the Memorial Service even it is via televison. There has been literally 100's of people in the forums asking if you will air the Memorial. Sincerely Marsha L. Booth (Dove)"
I hope they will be able to!!!
cbtree I think having a candlelight vigil every year on Steve's birthday such a wonderful idea..good on ya.
We are deffinately going to be lighting candles here in Texas at 8:30PM on Sunday evening and I have realtives in Vermont, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, Florida and California who all are also joining in at their timezone.
Sox (Lyn) a big ole hug to ya gal and thank you again for your red heart ''''''LOVE HEARTS FOR STEVE'''''' project. I have done the same here in the Texas and our Rose of Sharon trees are full of red heart blooms. The word got out that why I had the red hearts on my tree and people from all over have been asking to add their red hearts. Each and everyone of them has said to say God Bless you Lyn when I explained it was your idea.

Edited to fix spelling errors..I type faster than my brain thinks ..
After seeing some of the other posts, I have a small idea about getting people together. Someone might want to give a call to the radio stations in the area and see if they'll put it on the air locally. Maybe arrange to meet at the local zoos etc. Remember there are many people that want to do something, but don't find out till too late that anything is being planned. Just a suggestion, we're going to do it here.
That is exactly what I am hoping you will all do! Spread the word!! Don't wait for someone's permission to do it. Just make sure they post the correct information/time for your area. I just put a comment on this website that shows the LAST photo of Steve before he jumped in the water. I hope it will be posted and read..
*smile* that's saying *be there with bells on* is actually just a slang, but it does make sense. Steve Irwin was many things, silent and somber just wasn't one of them *grin*. So digging out my bells now too. You know, it's funny, the sadness is still there, and I still tear up often. But I'm starting to remember him more as he was, you know? He felt a full range of emotions, but most of the time it was excitement, and just pure joy. I think some of that is starting to come back
There's no place I'd rather be. I'm in California, so that's 6:30pm on Sunday night, the 17th, correct?
cbtree...are you talking about a particular site on MySpace or has this just been all over the place? I know of one site that I belong to; I was just wondering if it was yours.
cbtree..here's an update from the texas area..currently we are all going to meet in my Dad's paddocks Sunday evening and at 8:30PM (Central)CDT, have our candlelight tribute with 10 min's of silence to reflect what Steve meant personally to us and to say our farewells.
My Dad is making a campfire so that we can all share our feelings aloud afterwards. Crickey!!! to quote Stevo looks like there is going to be 100 people attending many following me down from Northern Texas as my folks live in Central Texas. Plus Dad let the word out there and everyone jumped on board there as well.
Many of us are pitching tents and spending the night in the paddock around the campfire.
Steve you are Loved everywhere!!!
Again cbtree ..God Bless and Thank You for leading us in this worldwide Campfire Tribute for Steve

Could you PLEASE tell me the timings for the UK and will it be aired at the same time on Animal Planet????....I want to light a candle too and don`t want to miss my goodbye to Steve....xxxx
I will be joining in from Vermont - 9:30PM EST this Sunday. It will just be myself my 2 dogs and 4 cats...but we'll be there Thanks for such a great idea.
Shellalex, This is not an event that's televised. It's something that we fans are doing to honour Steve in our own homes, backyards and towns.
I'm doing this because we have no idea when or if they will hold a candle lighting ceremony at Steve's Public Memorial on Weds. By having this on Monday, we know exactly what time to do it.
Did everyone get that news by Kespa? "Steve Irwin's Memorial Service to Air on Animal Planet Tuesday, September 19th From 9-10 PM ET/PT Thursday September 14, 7:45 pm ET
SILVER SPRING, Md., Sept. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Animal Planet is airing Steve Irwin's memorial service exclusively in the U.S. commercial free on Tuesday, September 19th from 9-10 PM ET/PT, with an encore broadcast airing 12-1 AM ET/PT. The memorial service, entitled STEVE IRWIN: HE CHANGED OUR WORLD, will be a same-day broadcast (with a two-hour delay) of the event Wednesday morning in Australia. In addition, Animal Planet is carrying the memorial service in most of its regions worldwide."
I guess there were listening to the viewers emails..
I think I got it. The time of the Vigil for me (I'n in CA) is Sunday at 6:30pm, so the time for the memorial serivce is Monday at 4pm. I don't know why I didn't realize that before...I'm just not good with numbers. Thanks!
Looks like they are not doing a live feed on this by airing it at 9-10 PM ET/PT? That's 11am over there in Australia on the 18th. The memorial starts at 9AM. Maybe they need a couple hours to edit it? Shoot.. Than means we cannot join in on a candle lighting -if they do it. thought it was going to be a live broadcast. Oh well.. I'm just glad they are doing it.
I wonder if there is going to be a live broadcast on the internet from their ABC network in australia.
The events for 911 were broadcast live on the CNN website. I wonder if enough people asked the Aussie ABC news station, they would broadcast/ provide a feed on their website.
Here is a link to email ABC.net.au to request they broadcast the memorial live on their website: http://www.abc.net.au/contact/
The following is what I sent to ckbnac of Sumter, SC, United States and she has informed me that she has copied the little article I wrote into her yahoo and msn blogs as well:
ckbnac, this is such a wonderful idea Thank You. Steve in death as he always did in life has drawn people together. He was a great man and my whole family is still in shock over the world's loss of Steve. He was a modern day Noah and genuinely cared for ALL living creatures, two legged as well as four legged or in some cases slithering.
I am a member of the Animal Planet Forum and at this time, we have a group, started by a wonderful Lady, cbtree. She has organized what now looks like there will be literally 1,000's world wide participants, each person is conducting 10 min's of silence and candle lighting ceremony for Steve. The Tribute will be in each person's time zone, exactly at the time of Steve's death 2 weeks ago this coming Monday, As well as again during his Memorial Service and each year on Steve's Birthday. Please joins us in this lets have the biggest Campfire Tribute ever world wide. Please email me, dove_on_the_brazos@yahoo.com with any questions or check out the Animal Planet forum at http://community.discovery.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/3211993295/m/8721955348 Titled “WORLDWIDE MEMORIAL SERVICE - CAMPFIRE 4 STEVE Monday 18/09/06 11:30 AM (AEST)”.
Another caring and giving Lady, soxnblaze, from the forum lives a little piece from the Zoo and is planning on attending the Memorial...she has a Red Heart '''''LOVE HEARTS FOR STEVE''''' project. She is making Big Red Love Hearts which she will attach to Gum tree branches. She lives in the Aussie bush, on 50 acres and has lots of Gum trees. Everyone who has asked for their name to be placed on one of these Big Red Love Hearts she has done so. To my knowledge as of 09-15-06 she has had 1,983 replies, at the time of this writing.
I am doing my own personal tribute. I am an amateur graphic artist, and have been collecting Steve Irwin memorabilia since his shows first started airing here in the state. I am in the middle of making musical slideshow DVD’s. I am also going to include current memorabilia; all the tribute videos I have been given permission to use and all the public pictures of Steve, Terri and family, plus every newspaper article and thousands of blog forum entries I have been collecting, and combine them into a graphic musical slideshow format. With each DVD a themed, like Steve at his funniest moments, Steve and his Crocs, Steve and the Family, Steve In the News and Steve We Miss You, etc. Then I will burn them to DVD's for my children and grandchild. Where I hope they become a cherished heirloom for many generations.
So many people from all over the world are pulling together in their time of grief to come to the assistance of each other. It is truly amazing!!
This just proves all the more to me, the impact Steve Irwin made upon our lives. His mission was to save wildlife around the world by getting people to start loving animals. Even though many have never met him, his exuberant demeanor charmed the world; they felt as if they did indeed know him and genuinely grieve for his passing. He was personable as well as passionate.
The love and respect that Steve showed for his family, as well as his dedication to conservation is most admirable, and gives us all something to aspire to. Donations continue to pour in from all over the world into his Conservation and Wildlife Preservation projects. Many, like me, have vowed in addition to the monetary donations, that we are going to take an active part in our local Conservation and Wildlife Preservation projects. Steve's spirit, passion and enthusiasm will live on into the very far future, for he has created a fierce band of "Wildlife Warriors Worldwide" to carry his legacy onward. Steve by “Crickey” you have made us better people for who you were and what you stood for. “Good on Ya Mate!!”
Terri, Bindi, Young Bob, Steve's Father Bob, John and Wes...we love ya Mates and our hearts and sincerest condolences to you all. Time will heal your tears and heartache, but know that he loved you all so dearly and his memory will carry you all through these very difficult times. Now and in the future.
