55thnich - Check Animal Planets TV schedule.

http://animal.discovery.com/tvlistings/weekly.jsp?chann...&yyyy=2006&hhmm=2000

Look for the program that says:
Steve Irwin: He Changed Our World

THIS is the Memorial Service.

I wasn't able to light a candle then, so I will light one at 1:00 Wednesday morning. That will be 9:00 am in Australia, just when the service for Steve starts. I hope some of you out there will join in...

I will join as well. This is for when the memorial actually starts, not the TV broadcast, correct? I am bad with numbers and was wondering if someone could tell me what time it would be in California when the memorial starts at 9am.

I'm going to improvise, as my dorm doesn't allow candles, so I'm either using a cell phone, or lighting an online candle on Tuesday Night.

Shadowhawk why don't you use a torch/flashlight, quite like a candle really.

I'm going to light my candle tonight and put it in the window, maybe a lantern outside too. My mother always lit a candle Christmas eve and put it in the window, a symbolic gesture to guide Mary & Joseph and to let them know that they are welcome (does anyone else do this, we have a special Christmas lantern we use now).

It's interesting our weather has gone quite strange, it's only the 3rd week of spring and we are getting summer temperatures - is Steve sending us warmth Smile?

Kespa are you able to get the memorial live?
Is there a way you can get on yahoo instant messenger and add those of us who ask? Here's a thought: Yahoo has voice conferencing, and you could let us listen in to your live broadcast on TV. Ok.. I'm being desperate here..LOL.
All I'm looking for is if Bindi will be lighting a candle for her Daddy. I figure Animal Planet will be editing some of it before we get to see it to cut down on unnecessary stuff. Things like this take more than an hour.

I sure will be watching live, I'm taking the morning off work, maybe the whole day (I may be a total mess after all).

If you can instuct me what you want me to do, and how to do it I would be more than happy to do whatever - BUT, i want to watch & take part quietly & respectfully (& not having to do anything too difficult techie wise because I know I will be weeping, if I can get it all set up early, I'm happy to do anything to help).

I have a new computer that has media stuff and you can watch TV on, I plan to record it that way & then put it on dvd. And we do have a microphone. But the computer is doing funny stuff at the moment, should be repaired tonight.

Contact me on yahoo messenger, my id is kxk02, you can also email me at kxk02@yahoo.com.au.(I'm at work right now so may not answer straight away).

But aren't they broadcasting everything live all over the world???????????

Animal Planet is broadcasting 2 hours after memorial starts, not live. So if Bindi lights a candle for her Daddy like I'm hoping she will, there's no way to join in within moments. I sent a suggestion last week for her to say what comes to heart then light a candle. Hope they use it.

I'd ask if you had us (so far only me asking)on conference there be no sound, so you may have privacy for your tears.
The only thing I look for is your que to let us know Bindi or anyone is lighting a candle.
I'll be saving one new candle for that. Sounds like a lot of trouble.. but this is important to me to share something with them -and not two hours after the fact.

I wish it was, and that sounded like the plan, but I haven't heard that it will be played live worldwide...just on Animal Planet at 9pm on Tuesdsay. I am really frustrated about that. I didn't want to see an edited version, I wanted to see the REAL thing.

I read in a post somewhere here that sky tv is broadcasting also, and I have also heard their will be radio broadcasts through our ABC network - see ABC.net.au.

cbtree
I don't mind setting things up with sound if I can manage it, just don't want to be fiddling around & doing anything technical during the memorial. I can set up the computer stuff and then go and view on my TV. I will check it all out tonight, ie what I need to do etc.

They're saying no commercials, besides, I don't think they'll have more than an hour to edit, and I doubt they'd edit it. They aren't showing commercials either...

hi y'all
garden of roses here. I just went to:
http://au.news.yahoo.com/
and I saw the Peter Brock service being webcast live. I saw a few days ago and posted it that yahoo7news in Australia would webcast Steve's service live. If they are doing this for Brock, surely it was right about Steve's service. I will e-mail them now and see if the info. a few days ago was correct.

I e-mailed yahoo7news in Australia and asked if they would webcast Steve's memorial live and they answered:
"Subject: RE: Steve Irwin memorial
From: "7news" <7news@seven.com.au>
Yes, we will, live from 9am tomorrow."

The 9 a.m. is Australia time. That will be 6 p.m. central time on Tuesday night.
The e-address is:
http://au.news.yahoo.com/

Hope this helps everyone.

So you don't need me to do the yahoo messenger thingey????

I began a new thread - scrapbook, to put all media tributes & good stuff about Steve all in one place so we don't lose them. There have been some lovely articles and it's a shame to let them drift off into the last pages here.

I emailed Kelly and she suggested I begin the thread & they can reorganise it later (maybe a sticky post or separate forum). There will be alot of stuff on the memorial, and coming up, so it would be good to keep it all together - this would also be a nice thing to do for the family so they can have a record of it all to keep.

It's intended to keep the thread just for media no comments, and only positive stuff. What do you think????

Could someone post the info. about the live internet streaming of the memorial in a MySpace bulletin? I suppose I could, but since a few of you have been doing research on it, I'd rather have those that are more "in the know" post it.

Jess are you on Myspace friends?
It's UnOfficial Steve Irwin Memorial.

Don't know what more we can say about the streaming video. Just click on the link that
Gardenofroses provided in her topic ..
I'd hit it about 1/2 hour b4 the memorial starts. Any questions.. maybe you can be more specific in what your asking?

Oops? Where did I make the boo-boo?

Oh, I misunderstood ya...I wasn't wondering about HOW the streaming works (I pretty much know how to do it). I was just asking for someone to put up the bulletin, which you did. Smile

Thanks for posting to the MySpace bulletin! Smile Do you think you should put in a reminder that the memorial is going to take place at 9am Australian time so that people can figure out when it will be on where they live?

If I don't get back here again before the Memorial, kind regards to everyone here and I will be feeling that we are all symbolically holding hands with our candles lit and willing our warm emotions & prayers to the Irwin family as one community.
(I'm kind of imagining it like a cosmic rush emanating as we all feel this thing together, wooshing around the world and then settling as a gentle warm caress on Australia Zoo ...hope I don't sound too dippy, there's just something mystical about this man, he was like sunshine)

Cbtree,So very pleased that we can all watch live together as they are live streaming.
Talk to you later.

"(I'm kind of imagining it like a cosmic rush emanating as we all feel this thing together, wooshing around the world and then settling as a gentle warm caress on Australia Zoo ...hope I don't sound too dippy, there's just something mystical about this man, he was like sunshine)"

This is exactly what happened before. It's not dippy! On Sunday nite vigil - It felt like I was suddenly given a breath of life and as if I were on the top of a rollercoaster ride about to take a rush down a the hill..

Dove-Yes, I'll have yahoo messenger up and running. Not sure if it will conflict with yahoos streaming video/ webcast.

You'll need yahoo messenger of course..
Here's the link to download it. You'll need to get this set up at least a few hours beforehand. If you're on dialup it takes a while to download.. Frown
PS.. Say NO to yahoo toolbar & make home page in the options to download.
http://messenger.yahoo.com/

Add cbtree1953 as a buddy with the knock knock of "Steve Irwin" in the message. Anyone else who would like to join in may do same. NO voice please as we will be listening to the memorial.
Close OR Minimize all windows & programs except the streaming video and messenger IM to cut down on your pc processor usage. (The webcast will run better.)
If the yahoo messenger conference interferes with the webcast just close the IM screen.

After the event, if you'd like, just delete me from your buddy list.

Email me if you have questions. cbtree1953@yahoo.com
put Steve Irwin in subject line.
I'll see if I can answer.. Confused

jesslv74- People will have to check their local Discovery Channel/Animal Planet TV schedule to see what time it's airing there. Just have them go to www.discovery.com,
then on the left menu go to Animal Planet, and then "what's on"

55th.. can you download yahoo messenger?
I have msn.. but fear that if I have too many things going, my PC will slow down and not be able to watch the video. NO comment on you skipping school.. Red Face

PS.. I didn't want to say that I don't blame you.. because I'd sound like I was condoning you skipping classes. I'm sure you won't be the only one missing school or work for this.

Hope everyone has their watches and PC clocks syncronized to world time clock. It's important to all light candles at the same time within moments.
