I am 52 and I think I dress pretty nice. I took Stacy's quize and i am a "Go Girl" but I would like a sassy hair style. My hair is pass my shoulders and is thinning in the top. Does anyone have any suggestions?

try something to your shoulders, with layers, but not so many layers. you don't want to look like you have a mullet. Wink

Very few women look good with long hair at 50 it ages women. As we age our hair changes. When features fall you need life from your hair, your long hair elongates your face making you look haggard not like a pin-up girl you see in your mind. Ladies, don't be afraid of a CHANGE, it will make you look 10 years younger. The Posh (spice girl) cut is hot, a great clean swinging bob like Ellen Barkin has is a great classic, a fabulous short hair cut (think Sharon Stone) given by a Senior Stylist (meaning they are highly educated in hair styling) can be a true head turner. Think about how the French love short hair! With short hair you need to wear bolder makeup, earrings and jewelry to bring out the new hipper, sexier you. Of course with this change you need a make-up make over as well. Too many women do not update their make-up seasonally. I recommend twice a year, when you are replenishing your make-up you schedule a make-over with your cosmetic lines latest colors and looks. This always keeps you up to date and not in a time warp. I go crazy when I see women in their 50's holding on to the long blonde hair look, get rid of it. You look like you are trying to hard to be young. As Jackie Kennedy taught us we need to be in shape, be fabulous, confident, and dress sophisticatedly classic when you’re over 40. Other wise you are a interchangeable women.

I too am older "47" with long hair, really long. Doesn't getting a good cut require that you know what shape your face is and also it depends on the texture of you hair? Just trying to get different opinions. Thanks

Making sure your hair is healthy and shiny should be first, then color. Does your hair color wash out your skin tone or viceversa? Get it brightened with a few highlights! Check out magazines like More for women over 40 to see what styles are being shown and see if one of the 'models' shares some of your characteristics. You'll rarely see super long hair, or really out-there colors. Think classy and flattering.
