Lets say that mankind found a way to colonize Mars. The move to Mars was also possible.
What will be the whole reason to move people over there? As you all know that human kind is too selfish to do any good without it having some monitary value to it.
How will humanitary law differ there? Since Earth laws do not have to apply to Mars living.
Who will rule over Mars? Will it be the same only the rich get richer or more of a united mankind mentality?
Will Mars be a more "green" living lifestyle?
Will we just live life on Mars as we do here on Earth and repeat the same consumption, addiction, and corruption that people here on Earth live day-to-day?
I would just like to say if Mars is our idea of "starting over" who will be the ones to start from the beginning?
I guess in the end what I ask is what will be the mentality for our species to bring mankind to space? Will it be to improve ourselves for the better or to move on to the next planet to consume its resources?
You nailed the reason for going my friend, greed. It is the primary motivator of man since the begining. If we ever colonize Mars it will be for the money and nothing else.
The bottom line is if you wish to see what we will be in the future you must look at what we have proven ourselves already in the past. Overall greedy and quick to exploit anything for gain, with a desire for consumerism at its highest level. Left alone we have no moral compass. JMHO
we shouldnt be colonising any planet or space body until we can prove to ourselves and eachother that we can look after the planet we currently call home, right now...we're a long way away from deserving the right to colonise Earth nevermind Mars
