This show was a huge disapointment. It needs to be taken off the air. I actually feel a little bit more dumb for watching it. The hosts really just killed it for me. They over stated to obvious and never brought any real science to the problems at hand. Also, they covered something that is not a problem, they have very effective devices to stop cars from going into opposing traffic. (sorry if I have miss-spelled anything)
And yes, this was terrible. My wife and I were just picking it apart while watching it. Two non-scientist normal people could obviously see that the experiments were going to fail and were impractical.
And oh, I have always loved Discovery but hadn't yet signed up for the forums. I signed up just so I could say how much I didn't like this show. And I'm not a cynical person.
I am utterly astonished. I am viscerally flabbergasted. Awestruck. Dumbstruck. Someone strike me. This is the most puerile pap ever presented by the Discovery channel. The questionable premise is only made more ridiculous by the undereducated slip-shot make-believe engineers. They hobbled together contraptions and theories that would have frat boys in chemistry class reaching for the first-aid kit. This cast shouldn’t be permitted the production budget to try out their ill-conceived plans. When things go awry with one of their “smashes” they giggle like goobers at a bonfire. “Lab” implies to most at least a pinch of scientific acumen. None to be found here. A group of “I look pretty and young” twenty-something’s, who could just as easily be lighting flatulence, are somehow reapplying what structural chemical engineers have already invented and passing it off to us as a new way of saving our lives and or limbs. This cheap, derivative, method of filming things going boom and slow-motion fire-balls is NOT ENTERTAINMENT. Shame on you Discovery channel. I had hopped for so much more from you.
This show is a waste of Discovery's time and money. Not to mention its reputation. These shows are suppose to teach you something, and granted, this one does. It teaches you how utterly STUPID and PATHETIC these hosts are. Next time you take people of the street to put them one of show, give them a questionnaire so you can make sure they are not complete and total IDIOTS!!! Obviously Discovery had failed us all. All the new shows seem to be just as bad and this one too. Cut these shows off the air and give the extra payroll to some of the other shows that have been tried and tested. This so makes me angry when I watch it. I have better things to do then watch overgrown 2 year olds blow things up for NO REASON! If you want to try new traffic barriers, give the problem to mythbusters and then give them some money so we can actual have real, scientifical experiments that give real resutls. Take this horrible show of the air!!!
I think the show was horrible. But if people really want to see it cancelled then stop watching it. That's how discovery decides. If people watch it just so they can complain about it, Discovery will keep it on JUST because people are watching. I for one will not be tuning in again.
