Instead of using rockets (SIC), why not off the shelf hydraulics to lower spikes or a snow plow blade beneath the trailer to dig into the dirt, asphalt? Attached to the axles of the trailer lowering said spikes , shoes , or blade would dig into the ground below creating sufficient stopping power.

The low riders use these hydraulics to bounce cars. Why not use same technology to stop them?

That is no more ridiculous than rockets.
Although maxi-brakes have been around for 40 years and work quite well. This is yet another non problem with a solution that is more troublesome than the non existent problem.

Install aircraft carrier arresting cables every quarter mile on all public streets and highways, tailhooks on all trailers and bingo... another major problem that's been baffling engineers and defying resolution is now SOLVED!
Those wacky mavericks have just saved me from myself, AGAIN!

Come to think of it, if we put tailhooks on all bad guys cars...

Whenever possible use a totally inappropriate system for the application and claim credit for "invention"

All I can say is...love the screen name. I kinda wish I had made an account just to complain about this stupid show.

A name is just a name. Don't you like my idea to stop all the runaway trailers and bad guy cars? I worked real hard on it..

I'm bummed.

Hehehe. Yeah that arresting gear idea rocks. It's only slightly less impractical than retro rockets. Smile

Here's an idea for stopping a trailer: better brakes. Put dually wheels on each axle along with better brakes and the trailer could stop the Suburban.
