Dr. Mosadegh was a popular secular nationalis prime minister. He was not a socialist as your time-line states. He was actually pro US. That was probabely one reason he didn't see the CIA coup coming. This is DISCOVERY channel; stick to facts please! Cheers,

The Wikipedia profile of Mossadegh emphasizes his nationalism. However, I don't think it is completely wrong to call him a socialist also--though social democrat would probably be a more accurate term. He did, after all, nationalize the oil industry and collectivize Iranian agriculture as well.
