I was watching Miami Ink and saw that someone came in with ashes of a loved one to mix with the ink. I got the idea of using my son's ashes and getting a tattoo of his tiny palm print on my palm like we're holding hands. I haven't seen a tattoo on anyone's palm. Do you think this would look weird? I wanted to be able to have a small palm print sideways so that when I look down at my palm I can see this and know that I am always holding my infant son's hand. Is this weird? How do you think this will look??? My boyfriend said it might look like my palm is dirty all the time. Any suggestions???
Tattoo artist don't like to do palms cause it doesn't take if you notice those guys and ladies that have tattoo's on their palms work at tattoo parlors they can do touch-ups at any time. Ask them? They don't like to do the bottom of your feet either anywhere there is callous. Check it out your artist maybe different.

It's a really sweet idea, but the palms and soles of the feet don't hold ink really well. The oils we naturally secrete cause the skin to remain soft and, although it tends to be thicker, actually wears faster than elsewhere. Why not an image or your two hands reaching for each other? It will certainly convey the same message and if you put it elsewhere... like maybe your chest or back... it will age much better. Best of luck!
How about having the hand print on your chest (where a baby's hand rests when the baby sleeps on your shoulder) or on your shoulder or neck (like a hug).
MY deepest sympathies on your loss. I hope this will be one way to help you cope with the grief.
