What is wrong with this world that her son goes missing and never found, her daughter is found with broken hands and sores all over her back she is sentenced to 10 FRIGGIN YEARS for assault with intent to kill and then her sentence is reduced to 80 FRIGGIN DAYS!!!???
That is as bad as the Garrido case.
If a jury finds someone guilty, or the plaintiff pleads guilty, and the judge sentences them to serve 10 years, 50 years, whatever amount of YEARS it is, why do they just keep reducing the sentences to these ridiculous amounts????? Does anyone in this country care about this country's children besides us posters here on this site???
We need to start a petition to have a Federal law making any rape or molestation of a child an automatic mandatory minimum 25 year sentence. These people CANNOT CHANGE WILLNOT CHANGE AND WILL NEVER STOP HURTING CHILDREN UNTIL THEIR LAST BREATH ON THIS EARTH. What doesn't our government understand about them?? How many more children have to be hurt, raped, tortured, abused and killed before we same enough is friggin enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When the majority of our laws were created, the rape and murder rate was not so rampant. These idiots are on parole and don't care, they still reoffend. They could be living with an ankle monitor or living in a care facility after being released from prison, but we all know that all they think about each day, all they want to do is break free long enough to reoffend. Twinz, jane velez mitchell talks on her show the same kind of, we gotta do something to try to stop these crimes against women and children. Perhaps she and her producers are going to "start" something like petitioning the lawmakers. Maybe email her, maybe she needs to hear suggestions on what to do. Sounds like a good cause, and I soooo agree. Especially s e x offenders get out with a slap on the wrist. And the experts know they cannot be "cured". grrrrr
Twinz Whats even more sick is that the Susan Baker was not the bio mother of little Paul and his sister Nina. The bio Mom divorced the father James Baker , and he didn't pay her anything for the children and she couldn't afford to properly care for them , the state gave the father ( james baker ) and his new wife ( susan baker the custody of the children. When Paul went missing is when the took Nina away from the family because of the abuse. And this sick women was never in trouble about Paul ( 3 years old ) disappearing from her home. And she goes on to steal another child from it parents and hide her under a bed!!!!!!!!!!!!! What I do not understand is what Shannons Mother may have had to do with it?? The Bakers must be some real low lifes , how could the Father of Paul and Nina stay with a women who was accused of doing something the the baby and with abusing the daughter??? I would have killed the women , unless of course I was a part of it all... GRRRR makes me very very ill.

I suspect that the Bakers' needed the child to increase their Aid to Dependant Children check....or their monthly 'drug allowance'....Very often, the child is the pawn between the parents and the Welfare system..The more children, the more the monthly allotment...The B's sound like typical welfare frauds...they don't work because they are 'hooked', undereducated and have perhaps been brought up on the 'dole'....The child that went missing, was probably abused as well and discarded to hide the evidence....These are lowlife druggies who abuse both children and the system....The mother does not sound too bright and perhaps was unaware of the B's history...at least the child is safe...

Here is one problem that glares out at me, both professionally and as a concerned citizen...The caseloads of Child Protective Service Agencies are huge...Each caseworker has, at times, almost 100 families with at risk children to oversee..Monthly 'home visits' are often overlooked and the 'at risk' children fall through the cracks...Unless and until the Federal government creates the funding for smaller caseloads, more caseworkers, better training to 'know what you are looking at' and the where with all to remove children from homes without the child being 'hurt first'...is what is needed..Parental rights are hard to suspend unless something awful happens...that is the sad truth...That, and the lack of foster parents or appropriate foster settings have created a generation of 'throw away' kids....It will keep happening unless strong measures, and alot of money is spent to fix the problem....And in this economy, I wouldn't bet on it..

I am wondering if the Bakers had any children of their own ? It appears that the only children mentioned were James Bakers from his first marriage. I cannot imagine the Mother of the baby agreeing to just give her away. I wonder for what reason ? I am sure there will be charges for false information to the police , who inturn did a wide spread search for this child. What a bunch of idiots these people are. But Praise God Shannon is safe. I pray she goes to a family that really wants a baby of their own.
