I've been listening to old videos, and Casey stated to Lee when he's prying for information that "this should have been done a long time ago".... this was BEFORE she mentioned the "nanny stealing her"... at THIS POINT IN TIME, Lee and Cindy both thought FROM CASEY.. that Caylee was "sleeping at nanny's and she's fine"

So what did she mean by "THIS SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED A LONG TIME AGO"

You're so fried Casey

She was referring to calling the police to make a report

i think Lee said something to her to the effect of "you know mom is calling the police" or something like that and that's when she told him that it should have been done a long time ago

more lip service to her family about how she shoulda, coulda, woulda
blah blah blah

She states this in the same context of "maybe I am a bad daughter, bad mother, bad sister. Maybe I am a spiteful b!tch. She had accepted that her plan of getting rid of Caylee would solve everyone's problems, mostly her own. She had hooked Tony with sex, cooking, cleaning, taking out his trash, convincing him that Caylee would be with the nanny alot of the time, and for him to see that it wouldn't be so bad her being a single mother and all. So that part of her plan, in her mind was working, she was living her usual lies and deception. She felt all she had to do was stay under the wire out of sight keep ducking her family and she pulled it off. Even in the car she was trying to convince Cindy to give her one more day. I think up to the point where Lee gives her that "slap of reality" she was either so high on pot that she believed that she could just tell them all another whopper and just return back to Tony's after it all calmed down. For she told Cindy that is exactly what she was going to do while walking out the door of Tony's apartment. That is why she left her things there.
IMO I feel that she was saying that in the context that she should have walked out of that Anthony home a long time ago. She should have done exactly what she had done to Caylee, convince any of the number of guys that had their own place that she could be a good little domestic engineer, have sex with them to hook em at first.
So I think she meant that since she was maybe a bad daughter, bad sister, bad mother that she was justifying in her mind that what she did to Caylee solved everyone's problems. At least it did get rid of all her problems for a month. She just thought she could convince the rest of her family of this too. Seems that it worked for instead of Caylee being the true victim in this whole heinous murder. Look who her family is he ll bent on backing up and spending energy trying to get justice for and it sure isn't Caylee. So ultimately Casey believes that when this is all said and done, things are going to be okay, she will walk out, she won't have Caylee anymore, she will not have to worry about not being able to spend the night at any boy's apartment anymore and her Baez has convinced her that this is exactly how it is all going to play out.
Casey never thought that Caylee would be found. Out of sight out of mind.
For up until Lee slapped her with reality of what was going to come down. Casey was living her fantasy, she felt she had caught the boy, he loved her, she was out of the Anthony house, she was living that bella vita. Here comes Lee and bursts her bubble that she created. How dare Cindy come in and once again ruin her dreams her world. Casey was really good at saying and agreeing with all that she would talk to. She would even finish their sentences in agreement. Even if she really didn't believe that she was a bad daughter, bad mother, bad sister, she was going to keep agreeing with Lee, that yes I am a bad daughter, I only want what I want. Just buy my lies, back me up against mom and I will just get out of here. Once Lee gave her that scenario that the cops were going to be coming and forcing her to get Caylee, she instantaneously went into her expert lying mode and I am sure that whole month while she was at Tony's that she had gone over and over of what story she would tell to anyone that caught her, if they ever did catch her. So it just rolled off of her tongue with ease.
Even into the first night when she was in jail she still believed that Tony was all hers. That she had hooked her man. That he would still be on her side, just as her mother had all those years. Even when Lee went to the jail to visit her Casey was still saying that "she was on the fence about Tony and trusting him" She really believed that all she had to do was to give him sex and then he would be as putty in her hand and just as Cindy had all those years, he would have her back too. She was deluded into really believing that she could just lie and get by....

ya youre probably right lilwaif. kc mumbling to herself but so lee could hear, that kc should have called the cops a long time ago.

I always thought of it as meaning, that kc had wished cindy would have called to cops on her a long time ago, for when she stole money. And if she had, this "disappearance" of caylee that she was about to reveal, wouldnt have happened.

But I like your view better, she mumbles that because she knows that she is not going to be able to take cindy to see caylee, and was starting her, "what am I gonna tell her" thoughts. Continuing in kc's thoughts..."I have to tell them caylee has been missing, so first I will say, I should have called the cops along time ago, cause mom, the nanny took caylee 31 days ago. And I dont know where she is."

well said susieQ and that makes sense now that we know the family's true demeanor.

Wow, every post on this thread was right on the money. Liwaif is right and suzideemd spelled it out just right. I would add that the weed only magnified KCs boundless self-esteem, she dinna doubt her own abilities even facing the cops. For the first time she was confronted with a scenario she could not lie or screw her way out of, IMHO.

I agree with all of the comments and can see any of these as possibilities on what she was thinking. My first thought when I heard this statement was she was mainly speaking out loud to herself saying that Cindy should have done something a long time ago, essentially blaming Caylee's murder on Cindy. Casey had never been held accountable for anything, so why would she think this would be any different? And, I don't think Casey feared Cindy at all because she knows just how to lie and manipulate her to get her to do anything she wants.. even cover up a murder.

The manifest, or obvious content suggests that 'someone should have caught me and jailed me BEFORE I did this'...The latent, or more veiled interpretation suggests not only an admission of guilt, but the spiteful utterances of an disordered and vengeful daughter to her mother: 'You are too late to save what was prized and what I took from you ..Caylee"...Casey knew what she did at that moment, and rather than regretting her act or having remorse, she is once more having the last word...'You should have stopped me, but you couldn't...you never were willing to"

Ditto, and I think this was one of the rare times in Casey's life where she was blatently honest.

That one sentence saying "Maybe I'm a spiteful b!tch" speaks volumes about why she killed Caylee. Her later story about the nanny taking Caylee to teach her a lesson translates to Casey taking Caylee since we know she's the 'nanny' who took (killed) Caylee to teach Cindy a lesson. The lesson: maybe this should have been done a long time ago.

That about says it all, Lawyerme....I have also felt that there was intense 'sibling rivalry' between KC and Caylee for Cindy's attention and 'love'..Caylee of course, was unaware of her role in this fatal triangle....Cindy, however WAS, and I believe, based on what I have observed of Cindy's behavior, that she manipulated both KC and Caylee in a cruel game she herself was playing...the POWER to control BOTH her girls....

Cindy is still playing the game though. She is still trying to act as though Caylee was her kid. Telling 48hrs that Caylee wasn't just Casey's she was all of theirs. (another dig at Casey). Getting that tatoo about Caylee she sported on the cruise (another dig at Casey). Going on national tv and showing the shrine to Caylee and showing Cindy babysitting Holly Gagne's child and hanging out with Holly (how easily Cindy replaced Caylee with Holly's child, and how easily she replaced Casey with Holly--yet another slap in Casey's face).

The biggest example was at the memorial and Cindy having a memorial service that Casey DID NOT want public PERIOD!!! Did Cindy care?? No. Cindy made the entire Anthony family "look like an ass on the thing" during the memorial that Cindy confused for "the Cindy Show" singing along like it was a concert, singing duets at the podium with the preacher, Cindy having Lee give the infamous CMA speech with laptop and all ALREADY HOOKED UP AND READY TO ROLL for Casey's viewing pleasure.

Cindy and Casey are still in competition. They can pretend all they want that they were this closer than close mother-daughter, who were BEST FRIENDS (according to Cindy) but if you carefully watch Cindy in action all the way back to the Rob D!ck - Cindy Anthony dirty dancing epispode--you will see that this competition continues and Cindy LOVES GETTING ALL THE ATTENTION AWAY FROM CASEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To me, the Cindy-Casey power struggle continues on each and everyday.

Let's look at the memorial service for one. First, Casey expressed she did NOT want a public memorial service for Caylee. Did Cindy care or listen?? Did Cindy have a respectable memorial service to remember her granddaughter?? Heckkk NO!!!!

Was Cindy Anthony holding "the Cindy Show" the entire memorial service? Did she bar people from attending as though she was a celebrity who required security?? Did Cindy Anthony bob her head, snap her fingers and sing along to the music from the pew each time the camera was on her??? Did Cindy Anthony get up on stage with the pastor, sing a duet with him like it was a gospel concert, and then lean in to him to sing like this was a revised version of "Grease" the musical?? Did Cindy Anthony already have Lee set up a laptop for Casey's viewing pleasure of the entire CMA debacle???

Cindy's going on national media constantly to proclaim that Caylee was NOT just Casey's daughter, but all of them (the Anthony's) daughter. (Another jab at Casey) Cindy showing 48hrs special the "shrine" she made for Caylee. (yet another jab at Casey) Cindy getting a BIGGER BETTER tatoo about Caylee than Casey had. (yep more competition again) Cindy talking over and over and over again on how hard life is without Caylee and how she is gonna stick by her daughter no matter what (something Casey did NOT do--yep another jab at Casey).

Everything these two chicas do is to ONE UP the other.

Poor little lonesome Casey who killed her child to get the last jab at her mom, to say "hey this is my kid and if you think you are gonna have her, I'll remove her from this Earth before I ever ever ever ever let you have her!", ends up seemingly getting all the attention back she wanted, placed herself back as the Anthony Family Princess. Things look all rosy, Cindy sticking by her daughter, lying for her, etc. But if you really watch Cindy, listen to her, you will see that she is only really SHOWING Casey support to continue the Cindy lie going. See everyone is always saying Casey lied about everything, her job, her nanny, her men, her whereabouts, her finances, etc. But just where did she learn all of this?? Cindy has taught her to live a life of lies because Cindy has been lying from the start probably. She had everyone around her convinced that they were such a close loving family, with a perfect son a perfect daughter and a beautiful perfect grandchild. The only good genuine kind and loving person in the Anthony home was destroyed by the evil surrounding her. Cindy Anthony can keep her act going, but come on, their family was at the least dysfunctional, at the most wicked and evil. Either way you look at it, the Anthony Family image as a good loving happy lawabiding family, as we all now know, was nothing more than the BIGGEST LIE of all!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bravo, Twinsz.....I believe there are no good answers to what could have prevented the development of this fatal triangle....Usually, one of the members must be removed to solve any triangulation but sadly, in this case, Caylee was 'removed' leaving the Cindy-Casey relationship to once more, 'play out their destructive power game'....

I believe this relationship will not go unnoticed by the State Psychiatrists....It speaks to motive, rage, anger and a murderous drive to remove an obstacle to both KC's freedom and her loveless mother....

Suzideemd made an interesting point in an earlier post: "...she (Casey) believed that she could just tell them all another whopper and just return back to Tony's after it all calmed down. For she told Cindy that is exactly what she was going to do while walking out the door of Tony's apartment. That is why she left her things there."

I forgot that Amy, Tony and Cindy all stated that when Cindy went to Tony's apartment to retrieve Casey that Cindy was insisting Casey come with her, but Casey was insisting no, that she would return.

What DID Casey think was going to happen with Cindy? Did she truly think she could tell Cindy that Caylee was with the nanny and not to worry? Did she think she could continue to use this lie indefinitely?

Either a lot of people are accurate in their description of Casey as being "for the moment/in the moment", not giving real thought to future consequences OR Casey was absolutely convinced that because her family had covered for her time and time again that this time would be no different.

I don't mean to make a fatal judgment of Cindy, but I have always felt she regretted calling the police. If there was an iota of a thought in the beginning that she thought Casey had killed Caylee - she probably would not have included law enforcement. Caylee's "disappearance" and why she never returned would have just been a horrid family secret.

But who knows....I'm just speculating.
