Why would Casey tell people she had a Xanax supplier in Annie Downing? Please share your thoughts.

I personally think that she was lieing.

Not to save Casey, but to save herself.

She's afraid that if she enabled anything..she might get in trouble.

I know that most of the people I know (aquaintances) take prescription meds they aren't supposed to.... but they'd never admit to it.

I'm that annoying girl that will walk around a party and *tisk tisk* my Friends that are either on cocaine, or zanax. They always deny deny deny deny when I tell them I KNOW they are on it...because I can just tell.

With zanax, you have an acute case of memory loss while using and abusing (with alcohol) I get mad because my friends never remember any good memories we've had. Our group of friends here have lost three people, due to an overdose.

I'm ranting... but hoping that I help some of you with what you may or may not know is going on in the world today, with people my age ...and prescription drugs.

i'm not surprised by what you have said, miss brightside. in fact i think you are correct about the widespread use of rx drugs by young people these days.
and i have a sick feeling annie downing lied to LE about supplying casey with xanax as well. when this was being discussed w/cops it was the only time she "freaked out". it sounded like consciousness of guilt to me. i don't think she could handle the knowledge that casey used the drug on caylee. i think it upset her terribly.

Personally, I hate taking Any sort of medication.. unless I HAVE to. And the one thing that I will take often is BC powder (it seems to be the only thing to make my headaches go away!)

But for years, my friends and almost EVERYONE around me.. has taken all sorts of them. Here are a few terms I've heard in reference to certain drugs..

Lortab: "tabitha", "Lori", "watson"

Zanax: "Zanbar", "Barbara", "Barbie", "bars", "footballs"

Cocaine: "White lady", "nose candy", "white"

Flexaril is also taken by many, but I've yet to hear a nickname in reference to.

Ambien (surprisingly) is taken by young people I've known, to give them a "trippy" experience... supposively if you stay awake, it gives you tunnel vision. Which I guess is "cool" ???

Ecstacy: "X", "Rolls", "Stacy", "books", "tabs"

Acid: "Lucy", "Trip", "paper", "Cid"

To be on "x" and tell people...I've heard phrases like "I'm rollin balls"

To be on both Acid and X: "I'm trollin"

I believe you are correct too. Annie was inconsistant and I think she is hiding something. She stated in her LE statement that KC disclosed that KC said that she was not responsible for what happened in that trunk and alluded to the fact that Jesse had the keys to her car. She was also POed at first upon finding out about the message, but then KC is the first person she wants to see when she is going through problems. Then she states that anytime KC started talking she stopped her because she didn't want to be the person that knew something. What a crock

I have a feeling that Jesse is going to be on the stand for many days. Good people and truth will prevail.
When I saw that video that stated that they were looking for dirt on Jesse, Richard Grund, finding some connection between Richard Grund and Kronk. Some weird religious belief, going off exactly what was presented in the Laci and Conner Case.
Cindy is in full denial that it was even Caylee, as soon as two months ago. Sending a picture to D. Casey of an older Caylee.
I think that she actually believes that if they find a child that looks just like Caylee that she could be replaced. Cindy is definitely not playing with a full deck. She is off the deep end and I think she is going to end up on the Psyce ward before this is all said and done....

Also Annie stated that KC was afraid to be near the window.
Tracy stated that KC loved being near to hear what was being said and going on outside.

Another thing if KC was so scared then why were they all eating the pizzas that were being delivered. Padilla stated that it was no frickin joke and that someone could have sent a pizza with cyanide.
Seems there is a huge hole in the fear that she stated she had in the park and the actions she showed when she was home.

Look how she talked to her father. If I had of EVER DARED said the F bomb to my father when he was alive. It would not have mattered how old I was. He would have put me through the wall.
I was shocked at the way she talked to her parents from the testimony of those that lived right in the house. So I don't buy that KC feared Cindy at all. I think it was quite the contrary. KC ruled that family and she ruled it by using Caylee to the hilt. When Caylee no longer served her purpose KC disposed of her.
She is one cold-hearted psycopathic, poor excuse of a human being ...no she is a "thing" she is not human. I am so glad that she looks and appears to be suffering and has that jail pallor...for she will see all her former friends coming in all tan and looking good and she looks like a skank, pale, witch ...God I hate her with a passion...God forgive me for stating those words...but after reading about Caylee in the fetal position..I am so angry..thank you for letting me rant.

Annie's lying IMHO and the police sounded like they knew she would when the interview began and they asked her if there was anything she wanted to offer them that would clear up stuff that she probably heard in the news...she behaved like she didn't know what they were talking about so they said "well, I guess we have to go the question route"..

Thanks for this info. So I take it Zanax is not commonly referred to as Zanny? The impression I got from reading Annie's statement is that she clearly lied about a lot of things. She goes on about the Zanex being her prescription and that she didn't share them with anybody. Then she admits giving one to Sean Daly one time where she watched him take it. BS. She says Sean was Casey's closest male friend but we are supposed to believe that she shared her supply with Sean and not Casey. She makes an effort to paint Casey as a homebody that rarely goes out, but messes up when she says that every single time her and Casey went out, Cindy would be calling Casey complaining about her being out late and wanting her to come home. The detective catches this and Annie tries to explain it by saying they only went out about once a month. She says Casey never did drugs because she doesn't want LE to believe that Casey would have wanted any of her Zanex. Everything she says is not to protect Casey IMO, it is to take away from the fact that I think she did supply Casey regularly with pills. Who gets a prescription for Zanex and can't remember the name of the doctor that prescribed them just a year earlier? She said she'd have to check her insurance records to get the name, but I bet LE never got a name. I think she is also trying to protect whoever she was getting the pills from, which could have been Dante. She is almost believeable when she insists she didn't give Casey any pills, but it could be because technically she sees them as coming from Dante. Where did he go? I think whatever she says she was going through when she wanted to see Casey so bad was related to the media reports about the Zanex/Zanny connection and her fear of getting caught. I also never realized she was the main connection to Sawgrass. Interesting..

Agreed, Blaze. If she had nothing to hide she wouldn't have brought a lawyer either IMO. She was compelled to answer whatever questions they asked, so why did she need him? It's not like her lawyer could object to their line of questioning.

Annie also contradicted herself when she said that Casey didn't want to talk because she was sure the house was bugged. Annie says she asked Casey why not tell her now in response to Casey saying that she had so much to tell her when this was all over, then Annie says that she stopped Casey from saying anything because she didn't want to know. She only says this after they are asking her if she doesn't think it's strange that Casey would not want to talk about Caylee at all. On another note, I don't think Casey was ever afraid of Cindy either.

Exactly! I thought the same thing when I read that at the beginning of the interview.


My daughter was visiting tonight with her friend from Italy…her friend is an American citizen but has been living in Italy for the past 3 years so never heard of this case..but my daughter has been following the case with me and when I was updating my daughter on the latest doc dump her friend asked me what was the name of the “nanny” and I said “zani”..the first thing she said was “Zanex” …I was shocked…because here was another confirmation that “zani” is known as Zanex! I don't know why I was shocked because we have been told it before here on the forum but to have someone who never heard of the case state it was just shocking all over again.

Reading more of Annie's interview...I noticed she stays away from the name "Zani" using "nanny" instead. She tells the detectives that when she went to see Casey while she was out on bond...they didn't talk about what happened to Caylee. Of course not..because IMO Annie knew from the minute the news reported Caylee missing and Zani kidnapped her...that Casey was always Zani..so no..they wouldn't talk about that story to eachother. She said Casey told her that 'when it's all said and done she'll explain'. Annie said (after not having a relationship with Casey since May ... zg22 incident?) that she rushed over to see Casey because she was going through something herself at the time and just wanted to see Casey. YEAH, I'll bet! She knew there was no Zani and didn't know what she should do about it...If the zg22 story is true...maybe Annie didn't want to risk that coming out since she was involved?

I remember hearing the audio of this interview. Annie had an attititude at the beginning (I'm referring to tone of voice). After she broke down in tears and had her little break, she seemed to be more cooperative. I also recall her saying at the ZFG civil suit that if KC tried bringing up anything she would change the subject because she didn't want to be the "one to know" anything. A baby girl was "missing" and she didn't want to know anything! She went there to talk about her own problems. I also call BS. This is long before Caylee's remains were found.

Her rationale for why she found Jesse suspicious was also idiotic. "He asked why KC and I had stopped being best friends. Not how are you doing Annie". Why in god's name would anyone being worrying about Annie when a baby has disappeared? She sounds as narcissistic as her psycho ex-BFF and mother.

Annie D. States she got her prescription as junior/senior in college . That would be 05 or 06 . She then says I used it all up in a couple of months. Obviously not if she gave Sean Daly a pill in 08. Annie Downing is not Michael Jackson , Her doctor would not give her a whenever you feel like fill it out prescription .
