I just don't see the problem at all with what JL said. . . why would anyone at all assume she was talking about you-- unless you see yourself having those attributes.
Also, I recall the only poster who actually cursed at anyone here is no longer a regular poster on the original open discussion thread.

Kendra, I am sorry if I offended you. I lost my cool when I posted a request that feelings about me not be discussed.
Everyone chose to reply to my post which was directed directed at a specific individual. I freely chose to use a forbidden word, I was wrong.
No profanity, no off topic discussion, no posting feelings about other posters, no copying posts and discussing them in another thread. If you want to reply to someone, reply to them directly.
The open discussion group has to play by the same rules.
I witnessed an incredible profanity posted by Deb10 late evening on Saturday, November 15. I am a fairly new poster and was astonished by her unwarranted attack. It was uncalled for and came out of the blue. Thanks mod_Ben, I just wanted to post my opinion.

This was completely unprovoked by me, and it is clearly about me and it is clearly profane, although I'm sure you'll find some way to justify it. Deb apologized for her outburst. There's plenty of profanity to go around so I say we all just follow suit when people see something they think is profane and just report it. That's how it was handled when I posted two words that seemed to scandalize people. Funny, neither word that I used was even profane.
Personally I think it's very sad that people have to be forced into a seperate thread to avoid being offended with vulgar language, harrassed, and insulted. Or worse, forced to stop posting all together.
I have always enjoyed the opinions posted on these boards and hearing the different theories. However, the herd mentality is disgusting lately. One can only imagine how many more posters would post here if people searching on this case did not run into such behavior.
A tone was set when individuals were scandalized by the term "blowhard imbecile." Maybe they don't understand that not everything is dirty and should look up the definitions. When I am being harassed with deliberation by someone (who, by the way is long gone), I will not stand down and let it happen. For some reason, defending myself against that person, and calling them a "blowhard imbecile," was SO offensive that the post was reported and the entire thread deleted and discussed by certain posters as though a grave sin had been committed. Since that kind of language is objectionable, I figure that all such offensive language should be reported. I would hate for anyone to be offended by it, since clearly some are so easily offended.
I'm not sure which is more offensive, calling someone a blowhard imbecile when they clearly are one, or using ugly anti-gay terms and dangling body parts on an Open Discussion page.

I would rather have someone consider me an imbecile than be told I needed to get laid. If that is not personal, I don't know what is.
Or to be called unhealthy, unstable, an idiot, stupid, a liar etc. etc. These are not "personal attacks' in their opinion unless they are directed at the regular group. It is unfortunate that this is the first thread people are directed to. Many do not even know how to get to the others.
I have seen MANY new posters come in , post a question, only to be ignored.
