The defense motions seek to dismiss several counts in the indictment against Anthony on grounds of double jeopardy. A sepearate motion seeks to dismissal becouse of a defective indictment.
I can't speak of a defective indictment. But as far as double jeopardy goes... I'm not a lawyer, but my understanding of double jeopardy is that you cannot go to trial twice for the same crime. That is, if Casey were found innocent of murdering Caylee, she could never be tried for the murder of Caylee again.
So if the defense is trying to dismiss on the grounds of double jeopardy, that would mean that Casey has been tried already and was found innocent of this crime.
When did THAT happen? Am I missing something?
Oh yeah... BS!!!!!
I gotta go read about this so-called "defective indictment" now...
By the way, all of these motions... Lyons doing, I'm sure. I don't think Bozo would have even thought of doing any of them. Man, she's got a lot of motions up that you-know-what of hers for her death penalty clients...
Also they changed the fraud case date from Dec. 18 to the 11th the one year anniversary and they say to many charges were filed in the fraud case want some of them dropped.
