Let's make no mistake about it:
mysticism is not religion,
religion is not mysticism...
but every religion has its mystics.

Mysiticsm is about the 'real search for God' that's purely for the most dedicated and devoted to 'finding God'. Only the most obbessed of any religious community ever venture off into mysticsm.

But virtually everyone who does... reports the exact same experiences. The mystical experience is universal. Moreover it originated at about the same time (500 BC) in numerous disprate cultures. Almost like it was 'planted'.

Now there's an area of investigation for you UFO buffs. What happened in 500 BC where these tools for finding God appear in many different forms but all with the same conclusion... and each having a very different way of getting there.

So find God from a Christian, Jewish, Islam, Bhuddism, whatever, point of view.

The issue is not what path you take 'to the center of the forest'...

... the issue is when and if you begin. But be warned - it is not a job for the timid. You must have strength of conviction and purpose. Your life must be a dedicated search for truth.

Most start this course and never finish ... for lack of courage or hunger. And a very large proportion of that group ends up bitter about life.

But in the final analysis.... would you like to know that 'ultimate expeience' in life? When your mind touches the Universal and all your immediate questions become answered.

If the answer is 'yes'... do it through Jesus, if that's comfortable.

I'm sure God's got no problem with it.

And it all happens in your own mind.

AE,

Duh??????

Yes, it happens in the mind... we're talkin' spiritual enlightenment, joining with infinite.... and the hardest of all.... understanding and correcting ourselves.

Where would you propose that might occur... other than in the mind. Certainly, not from where most men's thoughts are 'generated'.

Just because it happens to be in your mind does not mean it is wrong. The human mind is quite capable of being right.

Its the emotions that are most often wrong...except in a very healthy person.

Denovo, "Mystic", does it mean "spirit aided?" like your "walk in" or spirit in your host body aids you in mystical understanding? Karma, reincarnation intuition?

Just wondering, as star seeded souls of Ascended Masters is an Atlantean, Egyptian, and Asian belief?

Hi Agnostic, I just answered you previous inquiry you asked me before the weekend. Smile

Denovo, or does "Mystic", mean "Knowledge of Mysteries?"

Agnostic, Maybe it is confirming your thoughts into confirmed beliefs when you learn the secrets of Mysteries? Just guessing.

Sunshine,

In answer to your question:

"We are now in a postion to appreciate the straightforward nature of mystical knowlege. This knowledge does not require living in a monastery, wearing foreign clothing, sitting cross-legged in meditation, burning incense or chanting sutras. Exotic practices are not essential, they may even be barriers if they lead practitioners to imagine they are `advanced', or being `spiritual', thus reinforcing survival self consciousness. What is required is a shift from a consciousness focused on the disconnected aspect of reality to a mode of consciousness responsive to its connected aspects. Although we may be intellectually persuaded that a unified world exists, the difficulty is to experience that world, not just to believe it. That experience is the goal of mysticism."

I know that's bit complicated... summarized what he's saying is this:

Think of yourself growing from the same sod that everybody else around you is growing from. Think not of those single blades of grass representing you and all others ... think of yourself from the same sod and think of that similarity not the difference. Begin to see that you are less different from the other blades of grass around you... and begin to feel the unity that comes from being of the same kind.

Its just a way to make your mind work....rather than looking for differences ... you are looking for similarities.
