Do you really think the Tomb Of Jesus would be allowed to be left in this condition? That would be a little disrespectful for the Son of God Don't you think?
re:"You need to have the humility to realize that yours is not the only path..."
If i have given the impression that i think my way is the 'only way' I've been very neglectful in coneying my message... that is ... there are many paths to the center of the forest... mine is only one and it worked for me... a former athiest/agnostic. I think we are the toughest critics of the ethereal.
It is only One Way... not the only way.
But any Way is only as good as those who committ to it... go for broke and it will give you all you can handle...dabble and it will give you 'Drudge-type' declarations about your life.
But never is it the 'only way'.
Remeber, in worst case scenario: http://community.livejournal.com/one_faith/
You expect me to accept the things that you do, just as you have. I like to think for myself. I am on my own path. You keep calling me a quitter and saying that I'm afraid. MY journey is not over. I look forward to whatever I may find, even if it is my own error...

Absolutely, but remember the 'contract' we made earlier on. I try to convince you and you try to convince me... of our respective postions ....logically. We did for both of us... to learn.
Just tryin' to hold up my end of the contract... as much as i hate them.. contracts (any contracts we undertake)are very important in our lives.
I have openly discussed my opinion of all matters we've covered. I have yet to be "moved". You are the one that said we had to wait for "something". Then you started calling me a coward for "quitting". I no longer feel obligated to "wait" for whatever you think needed to be waited FOR. You hardly seem as enlightened as you claim to be...
AE, [quote]Then you started calling me a coward for "quitting". I no longer feel obligated to "wait" for whatever you think needed to be waited FOR.
I never accused you of being a coward (You're pulling a 'Jray' with that somewhat embellished interpretation.)
What i said was to the effect 'you and i agreed to go at it hammer and tong to see who could convince whom'.
Recently, whenever I make a substantive point... you ignore it and issue forth tangentially related rhetroical questions. However the recent substance of your questions has declined in qualitative content.
This implies to me either a man who is not taking the job seriously or one who has lost his standpoint. I think it is the latter.
I'm inclined to think you've lost the bearing of your agnostic viewpoint and are issueing rhetoricals purely to create a smoke screen.
re:"You hardly seem as enlightened as you claim to be..."
You show me one place where i have claimed to be 'enlightened'. I don't consider myself enlightened yet... therefore why would i be telling you i was... if i don't feel like i am.
Enlightenment is a relative and unattainable state. We are never enlightened... only on the path to further understanding.
To me Deikman is an enlightened being... to you he is a non-event. I see him as a smart man... whose chosen to study and puruse a selected field. I believe he has acquired and exceptional understanding of things mystical.
I would suspect he would not consider himself to be 'enlightened' although some far wiser that i would maintan so.
If i have ever knowingly indicated here that i consider myself to be 'enlightened'... I would feel ashamed of myself. Such proclamations are really only the hallmark of rookies to the game.
Whatever. You can play whatever word games you want.
There are two separate situations discussed here. In our "private" conversations, your gave me an I-Ching reading. We briefly discussed it with each sharing our opinion. Then, you said that there was no point in proceeding, that we had to wait for some reason.
In this forum, we randomly discuss many topics, but your posts almost all relate to mysticism and the mystical journey. I have stopped trying to hold intelligent discussions with you as you insist on never considering any other point of view. You talk to God, why should you? Furthermore, as previously mentioned, you have taken on a very condescending tone with me. You have stated SEVERAL times that I've quit the "search for the truth", when really I have just never accepted your version of the "truth". I have only returned the treatment you've given to me. Since you do not want to discuss things, I just throw out rhetorical questions or general statements that undermine or contradict your arguments.
Show me some respect and you may receive some in return...

Did we not both agree that the i ching was saying that we were both proceeding along a fruitless path? We were like rams with our horns caught in the bushes?
Further did we not agree that we might want to give it(throwing the coins)a rest and pick it up at a latter time.
And does that indicate, that we both believed enough in what the i ching told us about ourselves to do exactly what the i ching told us to do... giving it a rest.
We did what the i ching said to do....
So tell me AR, when was the last time you so obediently followed the instructions of a randomly generated 'divination'?
But we both did (you did and I did) exactly what the book told us to do.
Interesting.... he's your sn_t back FSHwiffttttt. (in a French Canadian dialect)
What they mean is it WILL be a read only forum. I think they are still working on closing the posting system. I had a talk with the mods about this forum. I gave them an update on the condition of this forum. I mean really it is about the tomb and not about taking blows at Christianity.
I basically emailed discovery about how I and some others did not like the type of posts that were on here. I told them how this forum was becoming irrelevant and was not needed. Now I don't think they will delete it, just disable the posting system. How many topics are about the tomb? Not very many. I don’t think it is just because of my e-mail. This forum is starting to get a little old.
Nasorean: I wrote a post question to the Moderators and made a *discussion topic~Why was the Tomb of Jesus Thread made to be "read only" I asked them if they were afraid of *healthy debate*
Stringbeanduck: Maybe you're not *all that interested in Biblical Archelogy Findings~but many people here are* I find that what is being discovered in Israel and the Middle Eastern countries to be facinating. The more they find things and the more news comes out the more I want to know~ The Lost Tomb of Jesus/The James Ossuary are going to be talked/debated about for years to come just like *The Shroud of Turin & The DaVinci Code/The Gnostic Gosepls*! I like to hear what other people out in other parts of the world have to say and read their opinions~Talking about a subject like "the lost Tomb of Jesus" makes one learn things.
Blackdruid: I gave you my email. If they close this forum then please come and join me on http://wikipedia.org or on the History Channel threads~that goes for anyone who still wants to talk about it. Also another website is http://www.Beliefnet.com
But according to them all these things are threatening to Christians and discussion of it is bashing.
Yes it may go into odd tangents, but that is part of this discovery process. The finds lead to thinking (oh gods another thing that cannot be allowed).
