This is my story.I never used to exercise until I got tired of always being big, and got a personal trainer at a gym who helped me lose some weight using weights. I did that for a year. Came back home (to the Caribbean) and took up aerobics, which helped me lose even more weight. At my best, I weighed around 150lbs. Through college, even when I couldn't find time to exercise, did not gain much,if any, weight. After graduating, got a job and my weight gain was almost instantaneous. It's been 2 years now. I have put on between 10 - 15 more pounds. I basically do aerobics about 3 times a week (sometimes 2 classes back to back), and it's hell for me to lose weight, or as I look at it, fit into the clothes I used to. I basically used to fit into a size 12, which was bliss for me. My upper body was basically small, my stomach was more or less flat, not a six-pack, but I could put on anything and look like I had a flat stomach. My thighs were always big, but manageable. I was satisfied. Now I'm huge. I wear between size 14 - 16 clothes. My thighs are huge. My stomach is just sticking out. Even when I try to keep my stomach "in" as they say when you're working out, it's still out there. I started doing the aerobic classes on FitTv last week (did six days). I'm hoping to keep up doing the classes, especially on weekends. My goal is to exercise at least 5 times a week. I hope I can lose some weight that way. Would appreciate any encouragement I can get, especially from those who have gained weight from sitting behind a computer most of the day.
The more exercise you get the better of you'll be. Five times a week sounds like a good goal....I was doing that for a while then got lazy.....Now since I've discovered the Fit TV workouts I think I am back on track. If I can do it so can you!!!!!!!!!!
another good forum to check out www.fitnesswithin.com
Thanks for your advice. Will definitely check the site out. I am still struggling to keep exercising at least five times a week, but I think it is the way to go and will keep fighting.
