I love to walk!!I would like to lose weight about 40 pounds.would increasing my walk from one to two hours per day 5 to 6 days a week and eating a sensible healthy diet speed up my weight loss? -----------------------------7d633f30
an hour is enough..you just need to intensify your workout...add hills, use the incline on the treadmill, wear a weighted vest. you need to make the heart work a little harder. do intervals..walk fast/run for 30 seconds...walk at medium speed for 1 minutes or so and keep doing this for the hour...just be sure to cool down in the end! and be sure to stretch. and some weight training too. ilost 40 pounds last year. i started out by walking 20 minutes on the treadmill. now i'm up to 60 minutes cardio in the morning and 30 minutes in the evening. plus 3 days of weight lifting for 30-45 minutes. i workout daily, you should have a day of rest...but there's even controversy on that topic. and of course eat healthy..i follow the food pyramid guidelines. i suggest reading body for life for women by dr. peeke good luck!
Believe it or not, adding a 10 minute walk after meals will help to speed up weightloss. This is a good time to walk because it helps to stabilize insulin which can easily cause fat storage when it gets higher or spikes.
