Hello everyone, I am 19 years, old, and I am trying to tone up my body. I do not have money for a gym, or to buy any products, or videos, or anything like that, but I do have the FIT TV channel. I was just wondering if it is possible that I could tone up my body by actually watching and working out with Sharon Mann, when her show comes on. I would also like to know if anyone has watched any of the shows on TV, worked out with them and has lost weight, or toned up. In other words, does the workout shows on FIT TV help to get in shape? I am 130lbs, I do not want to lose weight, I just want to tone up my glutes, abs, and thighs, and lose 5 inches in my hips and waist area. If there is anyone that can help, or if there is anyone that can tell me if this helps, I will glady appreciate it. I will like to get in shape before I am 20, which is in December. Thanks

You can lose weight doing the programming that they use to show in the MORNING AND NIGHT,but no they show junk like extremist and buff brides @ night and lessened the useful programming in the morning, so dont know what to tell you.

My wife and I own a personal training center, and we both agree that almost anyone can gain good results from self-training. The shows on FitTV have gotten more varied and esoteric, but there are a number of good, solid shows for the beginner. Just keep in mind there's no interaction or customization, so you'll have to take on a lot of responsibility for your actions - whether you exercise, how often, and in what way. Also for your diet, and monitoring your body for problems while exercising, and in general day-to-day activities. Always check with your physician if you have any concerns or questions there.
So yes, you can work along with these shows and get results. But you won't have anyone monitoring or providing specific advice, so you'll need to learn and understand the forms and techniques in order to execute them properly without injury. That may take some additional research on your part.
And don't get frustrated if you can't keep up with the pace of the show at first. Concentrate on form and technique, and only do 1 rep for the show's 2 or 3 reps, if need be. Increase your pace as you get stronger, and do not experience any problems.
Most of all, you'll need the discipline to pace yourself. Pardon the cliche', but fitness is more akin to a marathon than a sprint. Push yourself yes, but not to the point of injury or exhaustion. Get steady incremental results and gradually increase your efforts, and above all, do something, anything, each day, however small, to remind yourself of your goals, and which acts upon them.
Good luck!

If they didn't help, what would be the point in airing them? I've been told after a certain amount of time exercising you become counter productive..you need to give your muscles time to rest. It would be really nice if FitTV had fitness shows on during the entire day then around 10 they can throw on all those stupid reality shows no one likes.

I am a recently turned 18 year old health fanatic. I have a family with weight and health problems, and I have been working out since middle schools years trying to prevent myself from ending up like the rest of my family. I have tried many different work out books and videos trying to get toned up and strong, but I found them all either hard to follow, boring or impossible due to time or equipment problems. I don't have own the equipment that is needed in most exercises, so I have felt stuck for quite a while at finding a workout I liked...that is until recently. One morning I got up, turned to fit tv and happened to see Gilad's body in motion program. I watched it for a while, then I got up and started following the workout. This man is a genious!!!!! I hate most programs because they are so corny and if you dont have the equipment, which I dont, you can't really follow along, but with Gilad, that isnt the case. He is so versitle with his routines, and the moves hit the target spots without making you feel like an idiot doing the motions. I have been taping his workouts and doing them in the evenings about three days a week for about a month now, and I am already seeing changes in my body and strength. I feel energized after I do them, and I can't stop going back for more. I know I am only 18, but if you are sick of corny moves from other workout programs, and you want a routine you can follow, I think Gilad is good for anyone!!

I worked out with FIT TV every morning for 3 months and put myself on a diet. I would workout with a different show every day so I wouldn't get bored. I lost 25 pounds! As long as you can keep motivated you can tone up and you don't really need any special equipment. Good luck.

I have been working out every day for over a year and a half and it has been all fittv all the time. I only do one show a day and it is almost always something with kickboxing in it. I tivo them and rewatch for days when there is nothing new on. I wear weighted gloves and it has toned up my entire body! I love it!

YES! I have been pregnant 4 times in 6 years, and now have 4 children, so I had a lot of weight to lose, and my body felt and looked completely out of shape. I worked out with whoever I could squeeze in that day (Sharon Mann, Cathe, Carribean workout, and mostly Gilad), and I lost all my baby weight, am a smaller size than in high school, and have muscle tone and definition that I never even had as an athlete in school. Thank you Gilad, and everyone at Fit TV!
