This is an idea/suggestion, but being a resident of New Orleans, I was blessed with the chance to see what a house looks like after sitting in stagnant water for two weeks. There are numerous "dirty" jobs in New Orleans, the smells and the mold affirm that: the refigerators, the mold clean-up, etc. Any chance you'de be popping on down to the Big Easy to check out some of the dirtiest jobs there?
On the one hand, I understand the feeling that a show called Dirty Jobs should be a part of the biggest cleanup in the country's history. On the other hand, it feels oportunistic to use the aftermath of Katrina as content for a light-hearted cable show.
I just got back from Louisiana yesterday - Layafette, Napoleanville, and Cutoff. We did three great jobs, none or which involved any of the content currently featured on Fox and CNN. As a general rule, Geraldo and I should never be in the same place...
I agree that the Gulf Coast should not be used for opportunities. I worked on the ambulance helping with evacuation and recovery and it was incredibly sad. Then the fact the my entire family lives in that area and alot of my family lost everything. JMHO, Debi FF/EMT-P
