I've enjoyed being a part of this MB,for a long while now. Up until now,I've rolled with the punches. What I'm going to say now, I've been holding in for a long time. I hope, none of its TRUE.
I came to this MB, with all the excitement in the world. That excitement was quickly halted, with negativity for such. I've read things and heard things that confirmed this. Mike, just as you have read and heard things,from other places of information. Mike I posted a thread,late last summer. Inviting fans for a LIVE taping of DJ's, here at the shop. Daggers were thrown,right from Jump Street. That thread, was in complete FUN and JEST. "To know Me,is too know sarcasm.....also."
Well from what I was told,that thread did'nt sit WELL. Turns out, certain fans on this board DO have a direct line of knowledge. I'm NOT namimg names,they know who they are. I guess I blew my chance, to work with Mike and Crew by posting a thread, out of pure excitement and fun.I guess only a select few, are allowed to have sarcasm....I hope I'm wrong.
Mike, If their are a few fans that you and Dave consider friends, thats COOL !!! No big deal.(But their are cRaCkS and leaks,in the foundation.) If this is all part of being in on the "JOKE", thats COOL too. But at this stage in the game, it should now be made known. The Sea is parting, once again.
Mike, I have all the respect for you in the world !!! You have taken a concept of yours, and made it work. You continue to shine the light, on the working class. And for that I tip my hat, too you Sir. But I'm NO longer, going to be a part of a game or experiment.....sorry.
I'm still going to be around. You guys are too AWESOME to leave !!! I just needed to let my above message be known. I work a Dirty Job everyday. I've been doing it alot longer than Mike. ( No offense Mike.) I not going to play games, just to get my job on the t.v. And I feel thats whats happening. Again, I hope I'm wrong. You members know me and what I do.....and thats what counts.
Oh Jeremy, don't go. A lot of the stuff on this MB is thinly veiled, petty, pointless, jealous, infantile, and disgusting. That being said once you figure out how to circumnavigate it, things on here can be rather fun and cordial.
Some people are not satisfied with the fact that this is not and never will be, some Utopian internet community. There is a hierarchy that is not limited to Mike or the Mods, certain members have been deemed "trustworthy" and others appointed to positions unattainable to the common member.
I, on the other hand have, for the most part, come to terms with the politics that are inherent on this MB. It's not for everyone.
I have enjoyed most of your posts Jeremy and I loved the games you came up with when you were new to MB. Take it easy!
Maybe he means breaking with the board for a while. I'm sure he is still with the show as a viewer of course. I understand, the board can exercise you in ways not always to a benefit.
Do you know for sure that they are not taping your job? I know that you have been looking forward to this for a VERY long time; I have been, too. Chicago has been represented I believe one other time on this show.
I think you have been fairly tactful since that incident, and I believe that you learned from it. If that one thread totally annihilated your chance at getting a film day, well, frankly, that's sad.
I would say that this is cause for me not to watch the show anymore, but I don't, anyway. I was, however, going to tune in for you.
Here's hoping there's still a chance. Until then, all I can do is be bummed.
Like I said, I spoke to DJ's research a little over a month ago. And it looks like we're still a GO !!! It all depends on when Mike, gets back to Chicago. ( With his schedule and all.)
I just wanted it to be known, from me to him. That what he says is not going on......IS !!! I've heard it first hand and its not COOL. If me coming out and saying so, voids my ticket on Dirty Jobs. I can live with it. Being honest to you guys and myself, is more important than a t.v. show.
It’s good to know that you’re not leaving us AGAIN! If you weren’t married I’d hate to be your girlfriend . Sometimes I have to step back from this form, because I do get disappointed about what I read, and then it gets back to normal or I should say comfortable again. I think treads should be fun and enjoyable, something to escape from the real world, I wish people would leave their depressing opinions on some other site.

I kind of read a bit about the crew working with Jeremy in Chicago and wondered if his excitement over the possibility sent red flags to the research team. I think they like to slip into town, get the job done and split before too many people find out. Maybe they worried that the word would get out about when and where they were filming and they would be bombarded by fans. I would not take it personally. maria

I'll be the first to admit, that I'm over the TOP......thats just me. I would NEVER put Mike and Crew in the position, were they would feel crowded in. Where I work, is private property. Theirs 9 of us total, at this branch. I've been wanting to get this out, for awhile now. If DJ's research is telling me I'm a GO, for taping I believe them ,just like I always have. In fact, in a e-mail from research last fall, they WELCOMED my excitement. Thats TRUE, and I'm letting you ALL in on it. Not just some of you. My job is not Top Secret or a THREAT to National Security.
What I'm trying to get accross, is that their is talk going around. I've seen it and heard it. Why people spread rumors and bull$hit, is beyond me. Its not COOL !!!
I believe in Mike's message. And LOVE, how he put his concept into motion. Its AWESOME !!! I just don't DIG the bull$hit......sorry.
I really hope you get to tape your Dirty Job and show it to us. I know you are excited at the prospect and sometimes it bubbles over. I love your energy. I think Melissa is great too.
I promise that I will not show up at Jeremy's (even though I could you know) job for the purpose of disrupting a Dirty Job taping.
I promise to eagerly watch a Dirty Job (FINALLY) from the fair city of Chicago when it airs.
I promise not to laugh at Jeremy while he shows Mike the ropes, but only at Mike.
I promise not to spread rumors involving heavy equipment (oh this is a hard one) about Mike or Jeremy.
I promise to eat a loaded Polish from Portillo's while watching said episode.
Anything else you need Jeremy? Don't push your luck...we are on a tentative, both like each other, but always disagree, trial period here.
I hope Mike's version of I'm going to Chicago to film finally comes true. (Last time it was really Indiana big guy. I know you are confused about where you are, but don't diss the city of Big Shoulders)
