Hi Christy, welcome to the boards (by the way, LOVE the screenname!)

Mike doesn't have an email to contact him. If you have a question for him check out the links in my original post and see if it might have been answered first. If you don't think it has, then feel free to start a new topic. Unfortunately, Mike does not have the free time that he did in the beginning to answer questions but you never know when he might drop in.

Christy, it was a great first post and not at all personal. You should see some of the questions that get asked, LOL!.

"HTH" just means "Hope That Helped."

Since tonight is "After the Catch" with Mike hosting, it wouldn't totally surprise me if Mike poked his head in here. I think this might be their "off week." Generally speaking they go out filming segments every other week.

I do believe I will be ganking that abbreviation quite a bit. I tend to say that a lot and it makes good sense to abbreviate it

I work 2nd shift so I am always about a week or so behind in the episodes -frown- and I haven't gotten to see any of After The Catch yet but I'm hoping to soon. That's another show I enjoy (Deadliest Catch) and I have a feeling I'm in good company on that one here

You seem to be doing just fine. Just join in the threads that interest you; there's usually a good variety between this forum and the other forums. FYI, Barsky and the crew have a forum of their own; feel free to check it out.

Hello all. My name is Michaele. I'm new, and also a bit overwhelmed by how much stuff there is here in the forums. Impressive.

Anyway, I love this show. I'm not a huge fan of reality TV in general, but this is definitely my favorite (and I may or may not have blogged about it in the past. <shifty eyes>.

Well, it's been a long while since I've participated in a BBS that wasn't related to my fandoms, but let me see if I can remember how to introduce myself.

My real-life name is Nicki, but I'll answer equally readily to my online name 'Aurilia' (or any variation thereof, including 'hey you'). I was born in northern California, raised in Iowa, and just recently moved to El Paso, Texas. I come from a long line of blue-collar joes; including ranch-hands, oil workers, trona miners, and rail workers. My dad was a janitor by trade and a mechanic by obsession. Personally, I was (and remain) something of a tomboy growing up; so, as you may imagine, I'm not at all squeamish about 'getting dirty' in the most literal sense. Some of my hobbies include tinkering with my motorcycle, fishing, camping, and just hiking out in the wilderness to see what I can find.

Though, personally, I don't believe I would be happy doing the jobs that Mike tells us all about on the show, I enjoy watching it as a way to help keep myself grounded in reality. Odd? Yeah, I know. I spend a large portion of my life daydreaming about impossible things (I'm a fantasy author, so it's in the job description) and watching shows that feature 'real' people - not idealized or dramatized in any way - helps me to balance some of the displacement I feel when I've spent far too long in worlds of my own imagining.

Insofar as my opinion regarding Mike himself, I have to say that he's far more intelligent and articulate than I have come to expect from a television personality. It wouldn't surprise me in the least, were he to appear on something akin to 'Celebrity Jeopardy', if he were to walk away the 'big winner'. I also appreciate his sometimes-snarky, sometimes-sophomoric sense of humor; even if his jokes don't always make me laugh out loud, they always manage to put a smile on my face. Insofar as how 'hot' he is... Well, let me just say that though I find him a bit too old for my tastes, I can see how others would find him attractive.

In any case, all I've really left to say is that if I were to ever met up with Mike at a bar, I wouldn't make him buy me a beer. I'd buy him one, just as a thank you for all the wonderful hours of entertainment and education.

I think mike is hottttttttttttttttttttttttt.

Hello, my name is Meagan and I'm 18 years old from New Jersey. I have been watching Dirty Jobs for quite some time now, but I have always been quite shy about joining a new forum.

Anyway, I understand a thing or two about being dirty. Firstly, I am a catcher on my travel softball team based out of Philadelphia. I have been caked in dirt numerous times, so I can certainly relate to Mike on a couple of jobs he's been on.

I am really looking forward to getting involved in this forum and meeting some new people!

Hi, to be honest, if I were you I wouldn't even be looking for it for at least another month. It has to be sorted, go through a security process, and then it depends on how caught up Mike is on signing photos. He's a busy, busy guy.
